For years the EDX precision seeder, with its unique centralised metering system, has been characterised by the robust Xpress coulters that are ideal for seeding in difficult conditions. Now GPS-Switch offers also more precision and comfort on the headland.
The well-known GPS-Switch technology can now also be utilised on the EDX range. When using this latest technology for seed drills, the driver can enter via the AMAZONE GPS-Switch system their field’s boundary, set up the width of the headland required and then sow the inner part of the field first without any loss in precision. Finally the headland is sown: the seed rows only being crossed by a small extent.
The over and under sowing at the headland is clearly reduced. The driver is now not needed except on the headland and can fully concentrate on driving the machine.
By equipping an EDX with GPS-Switch for the complete metering drum, the module for the individual row switching is not necessary as the switching on and off is carried out via that central drum. An additional interesting cost benefit is also offered; given the multiple use of the GPS-Switch licence which, when activated in the AMATRON 3, the fertiliser spreader, crop protection sprayer and seed drill can all be controlled automatically.
