Simple installation – reliable operation: SILOKING StaticLine “New Generation“

SILOKING has successfully established itself on the market for biogas installations with its stationary mixer and metering systems. The company now presents the SILOKING StaticLine –“New Generation“ for the first time, which will be distributed all over Europe starting August.

The new components feature a particularly flexible concept leaving the customer freedom of individual planning and of the feed choice. “We have developed an innovative modular design making it possible to install any of our mixer and metering systems either with auger feeding systems or with transitions from the mixing hopper to pump systems easily, quickly and safely,“ Product Manager Hermann Daxenberger says.

The development of torsion-resistant square-bar frames is the basis of the new modular design: one basic frame for all 1-auger mixers and one adaptor frame for all 2- and 3-auger mixers. So, only two standard frames are required for all sizes, which has a positive effect on the weighing precision.

Further innovations of the “New Generation“ include the optimised design of the mixing hopper that is welded to be permanently tight (no leaking of percolating juices) and has a small bottom diameter. The hopper wall is made of wear-resistant and acid-resistant SILONOX up to 1,520 mm height and of S355 (St 52-3) steel from 1,520 mm upwards.

The hopper extensions can be bolted, thus reducing the installation time considerably. The fix counter-blades are bolted in half-position and they can be complemented to the full position if necessary. The smaller diameter of the mixing hopper bottom provides for smoother running of the mixing auger so that the power requirement is reduced. The cone, the cone tube and the auger flights can be completely made of SILONOX for an extra charge.
Reduced maintenance and power cost

The drive technology has also been improved: due to the use of special planetary gearboxes for all hopper sizes there is no need for spur gears and drive shafts. The service and maintenance costs decrease. The electric motor for the mixing auger is flanged directly onto the planetary gearbox, which reduces the power requirement and consequently the own power consumption. The electric drives from 22 kW to 37 kW are controlled via frequency converters.

With all these measures, the new mixer and metering systems score with energy efficiency and wear-resistance: “Depending on the substrate mix, we have measured the own power consumption of our biggest product, the SILOKING StaticLine HD 80 m³ in a biogas installation with an electric power of 540 kW and with 3 x 37 kW overall connection power of the StaticLine: it is 0.370 kW/t of processed and fed substrate,“ Her-mann Daxenberger explains.
