Aleksandra Jastrzab: Mr. Günthner, as a start-up company, what do you think about trade fairs, do you prefer to meet your customers in person or virtually?

Nikolas Günthner: Yes, for us it's like that - it's clear that personal contact is always great. That's why at NordBau, or at other trade fairs, when we go to customers' sites - you create a completely different connection there, which of course we really like. The first contact is... and then also when you already have the customer, it’s always welcome to have support on site. Virtual contact always works for us, too, but these personal interactions always create very strong connections.

AJ: What influence does the tracking of construction machines have on their performance and condition?

NG: For us - we have several components there, going towards GPS and telematics is of course a component - I'll come back to it in a moment - and also the other topics on inventory, maintenance and scheduling, deliveries, that's our overall construct. To come back to your question, tracking where my device/machine is and what my device is doing, these questions are of course essential to answer not only for a customer, but also manufacturers as well. That means that we have all the data points on the map - where my device is, of course, how, and what for is it being used and then also what certain maintenance requirements are. A lot of hidden costs that you have when it comes to machines are eliminated very quickly. I know where my equipment is, I can find it much faster, and I know how it is being used. I can also optimize my capacity utilization and cover certain maintenance needs that arise. In the end, I work more efficiently and find all the hidden costs within my machinery.

AJ: What would you like to achieve at NordBau 2023?

NG: I think for us it is to make new contacts, but also to strengthen our existing contacts even more. There are some of our partners running around here, and of course also a lot of contractors that we already know or want to get to know. That's why our goal here is to get into conversation, to present our product, but also, when customers or partners who already know us come to our booth, to exchange information and to strengthen our relationships.

AJ: Thank you for your time and the conversation today.

NG: Always with pleasure.
