Sateco Innovation

The first connected formwork thanks to concrete pressure sensors

Following the IDATE (The European digital economy think tank), some 15 billion of objects today versus only 4 billion in 2010 are connected to internet. And this phenomenon does not stop increasing. Based on a GARTNER and IDATE study, we can estimate that the number of connected objects in circulation all over the world is going to be around 50 to 80 billion near 2020.

For Pre-Intermat, International construction and infrastructures show (based in Paris on January 18th and 19th), Sateco brings a complete system of connected concrete pressure sensors in the construction world. Sateco is a pioneer in manufacturing and marketing for the vertical formworks and safety materials for the building and public works (formworks, safety platforms, prefabrication).

Can be used on every formworks, mostly on the great height working sites (>7.50m), which need a specific concrete casting process (concrete type, tie rods positioning). This connected concrete pressure sensor suitcase from Sateco is really easy to use.

After switching on the sensors (1 up to 3 – depends of the concrete height), the concrete pressure data applied on the formwork are directly transmitted to the magnetic digital tablet or on a smartphone. The site manager can track from the sidelines the concrete casting and stop it in case of overpassing prescribed pressure or dysfunction during the concrete casting. The interaction and the innovation of this Sateco system improves the concrete casting by strengthening the site attention and ensure the operators safety thanks to an optimized use of formworking tools.

Telecontrol and real time under control pouring

The Sateco sensor suitcase has been designed to propose a complete connected tool, easy to carry and easy to use on the working sites. This system includes 3 pressure sensors (gauge + battery + radio module) + 1 magnetic digital tablet (display + radio module + internet connexion).

Real connected control tool, this device allows to get the data in real time and offers a control on all the pressure sensors kit placed on the formworks.

Sateco pressure connected kit avoids all the human actions throughout the sensors reading while allowing interactivity between the information and the dysfunction treatment.

Time saving and simplified task for the user

Sateco sensor suitcase offers time saving since the operator is freed from attention and presence. Indeed, using this device streamlines the pouring time of great height because it lowers risks of damages. Moreover, allowing an accurate calibration of the sensors, the pouring time is optimized by securing the concrete pressure and making easier the checks.

Finally, the pouring telecontrol relieves the workers from tedious tasks and decreases musculoskeletal disorders.

A using… In every configurations

The Sateco sensor suitcase offers using instructions to extract the daily use of the material, for a better building site optimization. Indeed, thanks to its great flexibility, up to 18 sensors can be connected at the same time.

Wherever the pouring takes place and even if there is not internet access, the digital tablet archives and displays every control points. The recording spreading will be automatically send on the Cloud when the tablet detects an available network.

The data measure and centralisation allow a long term analysis on the concrete pouring conditions and thus a more impacting analysis of the value for the design of the future formworks.

... And in complete safety

This system takes largely into account the safety aspects of materials and workers that are important to Sateco. Thus, the maximum configurable permissible load is 30 Tons. If it does overpass the preconized concrete pressure (given by the technical Sateco offices), an alert appears on the digital tablet or on the smartphone. It informs the site manager in aim to give the adapted process. The alert can be also launched by sms.

Using SATECO sensors suitcase allow the monitoring optimization during the concrete pouring and avoid the standard gauges reading by the operators. The interactivity ensures the data recording reliability and a fast intervention in case of dysfunction.

Finally, at the end of each concrete casting, the system records all the pressure data to be saved on other hardware (smartphones, cloud, servers …).

Working Principle

1/ Sensors position on the tie rods level requested by the formwork tool.

2/ Sensors start up (ON/OFF)

3/ Digital tablet automatically connected to the pressure gauges (ON/OFF)

4/ From this action, it becomes possible to read the data on the tablet or on a dedicated smartphone application

5/ Concrete casting: the sensors record automatically the pressure data on the tie rods and transfer the information to the digital tablet. The concrete pressure graph is automatically drawn (every 20 seconds).

6/ The data retention is configurable

7/ In case of concrete pressure overpassing (preconized by the SATECO’s technical services) an alert on the digital tablet or on the smartphone informs the site manager in aim to give the adapted process. The alert can be launch by sms.
