In 2015 AMAZONEN-WERKE delivered its 100,000th ZA-M type fertiliser spreader – a new record figure. These 100,000 spreaders have made a major impact – especially where the total quantity of fertiliser spread is concerned.
ZA-M fertiliser spreaders, however, have also made a major impact with regard to the efficiency and accuracy of fertiliser application. This played an important role in the rationalisation of agriculture back in the 90s when AMAZONE introduced to the market the ZA-M as the first fertiliser spreader capable of an effective working width of up to 36 m and a capacity of up to 3,000 l.
New also on the ZA-M spreader, however, were the different sets of spreading discs with tool-less adjustable spreading vanes. With these so-called “OmniaSet” spreading discs, for the first time, the spreader could be adjusted to suit the many differing fertiliser types with their varying granule sizes and aero-dynamic properties. This resulted always in – irrespective of the fertiliser type used – a spread pattern of particularly high accuracy. With the “TeleSet” border spreading disc, in addition, optimum border spreading was also possible.
Over the following years many different additional models existed: The ZA-M I with the so-called trimmers which prevented, at larger working widths, fertiliser being thrown too far to forwards or the ZA-M Special, with a hopper capacity of up to 1,500 litres that featured a newly developed, lighter frame design.
Meaningful further developments then took place, such as, for example, the ZA-M Profis with weigh cell, the ZA-M Ultra with a working width up to 52 m or the ZA-M Ultra Profis Hydro with weigh cell and still with a working width of up to 52 m but with hydraulic drive and a maximum hopper capacity of 4,200 l.
