A firmer grip despite the toughening climate

With the future in its sights, Combi Wear Parts is mounting an offensive. The company has entered the mining market with its ProClaws system, adding two new sizes to its production line. ProClaws are now available for excavators and wheel loaders in the 25-250 ton class. Thanks to different technical evolutions, a growing mining market and a solid distribution network in the world. 2013 is expected to be as good and productive as 2012.

Upgrade of the ProClaws system
In time for the Bauma International Trade Show in Münich - April 2013, Combi Wear Parts launches new heavier products for excavators in the 200-250 ton class. The range includes adapters, teeth and lip shrouds designed for cutting edges of 120mm thickness. They will be followed by the same parts for 140 mm lip thickness. Two sizes are available: W40 and W50 with teeth weighing between 60-90kg.

New locking mechanism for the ProClaws system
Following several years of research, tests and development, Combi Wear Parts has applied for patent on a new locking mechanism for ProClaws. The lock is made out of boron steel, which, after hardening, becomes very strong and extremely durable. The advantage of the new locking mechanism is to ease the mounting and dismounting without the need for intricate tools or sledgehammers. Only a sleeve and a ratchet are needed, which makes it very user-friendly. The new locking mechanism can be reused several times and fits ProClaws’ installations that are already on the market. The new locks are now available in the distribution network.

Doubled capacity in Ljungby
In line with our strategy to develop a product range for excavators and loaders in tough applications, Combi Wear Parts is investing in the Ljungby plant. The foundry will undergo an upgrade during the summer of 2013 that will double the present capacity, improve flexibility and rationalise production.

New CEO for the Keycast Group, northern Europe’s largest cast steel plant Fredrik Ivansson, CEO of Combi Wear Parts since 2001, has also been CEO for the Keycast Group since summer 2012.

”It is very stimulating to be given responsibility for Keycast’s entire operations, with a total production capacity of 16,000 tons. Cutting edge expertise in metallurgy and casting techniques paves the way for Combi Wear Parts to continue its expansion within plant, mining and dredging,”
