About Wall-Fow Filtration

The exhaust gases are lead through the channels of the diesel particulate filter. The channels are alternately closed, which means the inlet channels (black arrows) can‘t be used as outlet channels (blue arrows). The gaseous components of the exhaust are able to flow through the porous ceramic walls of the filter channels. Particles are captured inside the channel. Following this principle even the smallest diesel particles are filtered. Filters like those from HUSS achieve a filtration efficiency by 99.9%*. Non wall-flow filters, also called flow-through, partial- or open filters, will not be able to achieve these high filtration rates.
