At this year’s Platformers’ Days, Genie, BSI GmbH (BSI) and ATG Lift GmbH (ATG) will showcase a range of solutions that address the industry’s growing demand for more environmentally friendly equipment for work at height. Platformers’ Days will be held on 8 and 9 September 2023 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Genie, ATG, and BSI can be found at indoor/outdoor stand #H105/F105.

The newest Genie® hybrid and electric boom and scissor lifts meet the industry’s need for more sustainable solutions while also offering a low total cost of ownership.

At the indoor booth #H105 in the Hall, the team will show the Genie GS™-4046 E-Drive and GS-1432m scissor lifts, and the hybrid Z®-45 FE articulating boom lift. At the adjoining outdoor stand, the SX™-180 telescopic boom lift, the Z®-45 XC™ (Xtra Capacity™) articulating boom lift and the rough terrain GS-3369 RT scissor lift will be on display, demonstrating the rough terrain capabilities of these machines.

The joint Genie-ATG-BSI presence also conveys customer benefits in terms of sales of Genie equipment, service and support packages, operator training and OEM spare parts offered in conjunction with the Genie sales, support and aftermarket teams.

Sven Nielsen, Managing Director BSI; Andreas Konstantin, Managing Director ATG; and Thibaut Itzel, Genie Sales Director for the GAS area, agree: "We expect a high volume of visitors on this year’s Platformers’ Days due to the successful concept of the show and look forward to our joint trade show presence this year. Together we can make a big difference in the German market and offer customers the high-quality machines and service solutions they expect from us. Demand is strong for equipment that can deliver a lower environmental footprint without sacrificing performance or quality. There has also been an increased demand for technology in terms of electrification. As a manufacturer, Genie has continuously developed purposeful innovations in electrification to bring the technology that is in demand to market at the right time. These latest model concepts reflect Genie's more than three decades of leadership in electrifying the aerial work platform industry, developing and applying technology that truly adds value.”

“For visitors interested in practical aspects such as maintenance, service and parts, our parts and services teams will be onsite to provide information on combined service offerings," Nielsen, Konstantin and Itzel concluded.

Genie Micro Scissors are a productive, compact, lightweight option

Shorter and lighter than standard-sized scissor lifts, the compact GS-1432m and GS-1932m micro scissor lifts can reach jobsites other scissor lifts can’t access. They are a safe alternative to ladders and a more productive alternative to vertical mast lifts. At Platfomers’ Days 2021 the GS-1432m with a working height of 6,30 m inside and 5,66 outside will be exhibited.

Front-wheel drive with a zero degree inside turning radius enables good manoeuvrability in tight spaces. Both micro scissors are compact enough to drive through doorways with standard fixed guardrails, and lightweight enough to fit in standard elevators.

With a 227 kg capacity and narrow platform, the platforms of both machines are still roomy enough for two occupants indoor, making them a truly versatile option for nearly any work-at-height application.

Real-world performance and reduced maintenance with Genie E-Drive

Since their introduction in 2020, Genie E-Drive scissor lifts have proven, real-world performance, including 25% gradeability and 14° breakover angle. E-Drive motors are brushless and fully sealed against moisture and water for maintenance-free longevity. In addition, potential for hydraulic leaks is drastically reduced because E-Drive has 70% fewer hydraulic hoses and fittings. The GS-4046 has a 13.94 m working height, 350 kg platform capacity, and at 1.17 m wide, easily passes through standard double doors.

Versatile articulated booms give owners choices in power packages

Genie has been a leader in hybrid technology since the introduction of FE about seven years ago. The highly popular electric Z-45 FE articulated boom lift has unrestricted range of motion and the versatility to adapt to indoor and outdoor applications, even where on-site electric power is not available. In electric mode, FE booms can work a full shift on a single battery charge; in hybrid mode they can run for more than a week on a single tank of diesel fuel.

Four-wheel drive plus electronic traction management and active oscillating axles enable 6.4 km/h drive speed and 45% gradeability in rough terrain. The Z-45 FE boasts a maximum working height of 15.92 m, a maximum horizontal outreach of 6.94 m, and a maximum up-and-over reach of 7.50 m. The 1.52 m articulating jib with a 135° vertical rotation provides the ability to position workers accurately in a platform with market-leading 300 kg capacity.

Genie SX™-180 can tackle high-reaching jobs

The highest-reaching model in the Genie line-up, the SX™-180 telescopic boom lift offers operators access to jobsites inaccessible by other booms, boom trucks and cranes. It is purpose-built to work on jobsites in the oil and gas industries and in industrial or commercial construction and in general maintenance applications.

The SX-180 can tackle the most extreme jobs with a working height of 56.86 m and horizontal reach of 24.38 m. A 3.05 m rotating jib with 135˚ vertical and 60˚ horizontal articulation help easily position workers and gear, and the standard 2.44 m self-levelling platform delivers an unrestricted capacity of 340 kg. Adding to productivity features is the ability to drive at full height.

The patented Genie X-Chassis® system extends and retracts to provide stability on the job and a narrow profile for transport.

Genie GS-3369 RT delivers rugged performance

Four-wheel drive with positive traction control ensures the Genie GS-3369 RT rough terrain scissor lift delivers extra-rugged performance and the ability to traverse through uneven, rough terrain environments. Patented full-time oscillating axles automatically adjust the axle position based on ground conditions. The GS-3369 RT also offers up to 35% gradeability for demanding outdoor worksites.

Built to last with a capacity of up to seven people onboard, and featuring a standard 1.52 m front slide-out extension deck the GS-3369 RT ideal for increasing operator productivity on demanding outdoor worksites. Slide- or pull-out engine trays allow easy access to components and on-board diagnostics for easy troubleshooting.
