Plantworx is the largest live action construction show in the UK, held over 3 days. Promoted by the CEA (Construction Equipment Association) the PLANTWORX exhibition aims to provide a biennial showcase for construction equipment suppliers with leading construction brands and a wide variety of operated and none operated plant, tools, equipment and services.

The show featured live construction applications and working machinery and was an opportunity for the Leek High Students to operate some equipment and to see what many different exhibitors from the industry had to demonstrate. Spending time on the Altrad Belle stand the students were guided through the vast array of equipment that the company manufactures by Martin Burnett the company’s Service Manager. Martin also put the students to task with some challenges where most students won company promotional goods.

The show turned out to be a successful one for Altrad Belle where they scooped up the award for Best Outdoor Static stand. As regards the students they got to understand better, the many different working roles that the industry employs. Jake Hunter one of the Year 10 Construction students commented “Mr Garner our Head of Vocational (Technology) teacher has taken us out on a couple of work based events and it has now made me think that rather than working as a farm hand I would like to get into maybe farm engineering machinery”

Below the students gather for a group photo on the Altrad Belle Stand and additionally the Altrad Belle staff proudly show off their Best Outdoor static stand award.
