Anglian Plant Ltd invest in Volvo compact excavators

Anglian Plant Ltd of Norwich Norfolk has made a significant investment in purchasing 20 new Volvo compact excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment’s utility dealer Contractors Equipment Sales Ltd.

Managing Director Joe Paterson established his business back in 2008 which has steadily grown into a major self-drive and operated hire business serving the whole of East Anglia. Last year the company purchased a couple of three tonne Volvo compact excavators which has subsequently resulted in the purchase of twenty new machines in 2015. “Volvo compact excavators have a solid reputation for quality, reliability and good residual values, so last year we decided to trial some machines for ourselves,” says Mr Paterson. “We were more than pleased with the way the machines operated along with the overall build quality and the positive acceptance of our customers so decided to switch to the Volvo brand to further develop our compact excavator fleet,” he continues.

The mix of machines includes 5 ECR25D’s, 7 ECR50D’s and 8 ECR88D’s – all of which are reduced swing models. “Opting for the 2½, 5 & 8 tonne reduced swing variants for the fleet satisfies the requirements for virtually all of our customers,” says Joe Paterson. “The cab space on all three models is exceptional and very much appreciated by our own operators and customers alike. Likewise access for regular maintenance has been made very user friendly on the Volvo machines and we have the added assurance of CES who are virtually on our doorstep for parts and service support.”

The new arrivals, all of which have been supplied with hydraulic quick hitches and a range of buckets, join a growing fleet of equipment available for hire from Anglian Plant Ltd which includes excavator ranging from 1 to 22 tonnes; site dumpers from ½ to 9 tonne capacity, tele-handlers up to 17m reach and a comprehensive range of rollers, concrete crushers, welfare units and powered access equipment. The company which employs 20 personnel also offers grab tipper hire to add to its portfolio.
