Another Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane will be delivered to Marghera, Venice

In September 2017, Terminale Intermodale Venezia S.p.A. ordered a Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 Mobile Harbor Crane for its terminal in Marghera, the commercial port of Venice. TIV, a joint venture of Mariner and Marinvest, is a leader in the intermodal handling of containerized cargo in the Adriatic region and already operates four Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes. These machines mainly handle containers, and so will the new Model 6 crane. It will be equipped with a twin-lift spreader providing a lifting capacity of up to 60 t under spreader.

Roberto Semenzato, General Manager, TIV said: “Our existing fleet of Konecranes Gottwald machines has contributed to the rapid growth of our terminal. The cranes offer high working speeds, easy access to maintenance points and low energy consumption. They are very efficient machines, which made it easy for us to opt again for mobile harbor crane technology from Konecranes.”

Giuseppe Di Lisa, Sales and Marketing Director, Mobile Harbor Cranes, Konecranes Port Solutions, is pleased with the growing demand for Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes in Italy: “Italy has become one of our most important European markets. Over the last three years, some 15 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes have been put into operation in terminals all over the country.” The new crane is TIV’s second Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 Mobile Harbor Crane in the G HMK 6507 two-rope variant. It offers a maximum lifting capacity of 125 t and an outreach of up to 51 m. The order includes a customized package of spare parts.
