Atlas Copco has a broad marine offer consisting of starting, working and instrument air compressors as well as air treatment solutions and pneumatic tools. While the aluminum LT piston compressor range could offer starting air from 2 to 15 kW; the capacities of the newly developed LT KE starting air piston compressor with cast iron casing run from 60 m³/h (18.5 kW) to 430 m³/h (90 kW).

Designed for the engine room

The new LT KE pistons withstand ambient temperatures up to 60°C/140°F , which makes them ideal for the engine room. They also have the smallest footprint in the market, noise levels as low as 91dB(a) and a vibration foundation of less than 14 mm/sec. Both sea or fresh water can be used for the cooling of the LT KE. Synthetic oil is standard for the LT KE, but they also run smoothly on mineral oil.

Developed for the Marine industry

Like all Atlas Copco’s marine air solutions, the new LT KE is fully certified according to all relevant marine class certifications . Designed by engineers with a wide experience in both marine and starting air applications, these marine compressors fit in perfectly with Atlas Copco’s market leading compressed air portfolio.
Atlas Copco’s starting air compressors are designed, manufactured and certified specifically for the Marine industry, but they are also perfectly suitable for industrial applications, like starting air for diesel engines on power plants.

Atlas Copco’s marine solutions

With the new water cooled LT KE, Atlas Copco extends its marine portfolio once again with a new and economical air solution. Of course, matching equipment like air receivers, working or instrument air compressors and air treatment are also available in our standard offer. Atlas Copco is also developing a fully-certified, air-cooled version of the LT KE that will be launched in the first quarter of 2012. The marine industry can rely on Atlas Copco for complete and certified marine air solutions. Please check www.atlascopco.com/marine for more information.

Thanks to a forced air flow, the crankcase is heated much faster, which helps to eliminate condensate water. Together with a cooling water shut-off solenoid valve, no condensation can harm the compressor. When engineering the LT KE, special attention also went to easy installation, low maintenance requirements and low cost of ownership.
