With the new SCH® EasyCut 3 QuickFit®, GROUP SCHUMACHER developped a cutting system that, compared to the previous model, enables 3x faster replacement of individual components and ensures easier handling with greater convenience. The nuts on the guards and knife sections are only loosened and not completely removed. The user only requires one tool for this. Another advantage is that there are no loose parts that can fall off and get lost. In addition, the system uses standard fasteners, so that repairs can be carried out quickly and easily if necessary. Following the successful launch of the ARISTA crop lifter as the first product in the QuickFit series, the range is now being expanded to include the QuickFit guard and the QuickFit knife section.

The new QuickFit guard: V-design and new shape

Thanks to the U-shaped opening at the rear edge of the QuickFit guard, it can be easily pulled out of the cutting system during disassembly. When inserting, a spacer ensures that the mounting gap is kept open. The new V-design increases the cutting area by 10% and increases bending stiffness by 50%. In addition, parallel overlapping metal formings on the upper side increase the load-bearing capacity of the guard.

The new QuickFit knife section: Perfect form fit with locking plate

If a knife section does break, it can be replaced in record time thanks to the new QuickFit system. After loosening the nuts, the knife section can be quickly and easily removed from the cutting system by tilting it slightly. The recess in the rear edges is connected on both sides by a connecting plate, the so-called locking plate, which replaces the classic blade joint. This perfect form fit enables direct transmission of tensile forces.

Weight-reduced knife head

The new knife head offers a 300% increase in tensile strength with a 30% reduction in weight. The elimination of the upper pull means that special fingers are no longer required, and closed standard fingers can now also be mounted in the front area of the knife head.

AxioFit knife head bearing with compensation function

The new AxioFit cutter head bearing with compensation function dynamically compensates for misalignments between the cutting system and the cutter drive. This prevents cutter breakage due to tension.

New ProDrive drive technology

The new ProDrive Premium, Premium Smart (with sensor technology), Compact, and Select drives feature significantly improved durability and have been specifically developed for higher loads and a longer service life. The gear teeth have been optimized for larger contact surfaces, and the use of matching gear teeth ensures better power transmission – ideal for high torques and power-intensive applications. Due to the reinforcement of the bearings, the drives have a 50% longer service life compared to the previous generation under identical operating conditions.

Sensor-supported ProDrive Premium Smart drive

The sensors in the new ProDrive Premium Smart provide the crucial data for driving speed and throughput control, increasing area coverage by 10-15% and optimizing threshing quality. A homogeneous crop flow, collision and foreign object detection, and overload protection for the combine harvester are further positive results. Based on the data collected, information on soil conditions can be compiled, enabling the creation of a field database and thus contributing to the optimization of follow-up work, such as straw recovery or post-harvest field preparation.
