BAUER Vietnam Ltd. carries out Foundation Works for Luxury Apartment Towers in Hanoi

Hanoi - In October 2010, the City of Hanoi celebrated its 1000th anniversary. Despite such a remarkable age, Vietnam’s Capital City is today presenting itself in a new look as a modern international city. Entire districts rise literally out of the ground, as for instance the new Exchange City (CT2) District along Pham Van Dong road in the northwest of the capital, one of the main traffic arteries connecting the city center with Noi Bai International Airport in the north.

The first phase of the Exchange City construction project includes the development of the Sanctuary Towers, a total of seven luxury apartment towers which are later also to include a commercial center and a cinema complex. In the summer of 2009, BAUER Vietnam Ltd., a subsidiary of the German BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH, was appointed by An Binh Star Joint Stock Company to carry out the main foundation construction works. Bauer Vietnam commenced the works on the 28,000 square meter site in July 2010 and anticipates completion of the works in August 2011.

The foundation works for the three main towers with 35 storeys each and two twin towers with 28 storeys each comprise a total of 640 bored piles ranging in diameter from 1,000 mm to 1,800 mm, also 7,500 square meters of nailed walling as well as the excavation and construction of a two storey basement. Two BG 40 rotary drilling rigs, one BG 30 and two anchor drills are employed on site. This project is the largest and most complex carried out in Hanoi by BAUER Vietnam Ltd. to date.

Bauer’s Vietnam subsidiary founded in 2006 and based in Ho-Chi-Minh City only set up an office in Hanoi in May 2010. Shortly afterwards the first projects in the state capital followed, including the very first anchor construction project in the whole of Vietnam.
