When D&M Plant Hire decided to expand its fleet of Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs), the Oxfordshire company elected to purchase a B30E, its first ever machine from Bell Equipment.
Hitherto, D&M had stayed loyal to the ADT manufacturer it has been using for over a decade but company owner Michael Meagher felt that the time was right for a change.
“There are so many good options on the market that we decided to take a look around and see if anything took our fancy,” he explains.
After speaking to Bell, the manufacturer provided a B30E on a short-term demonstration. While D&M’s drivers were initially pessimistic about switching brands, once they tried out the Bell the feedback was excellent.
“Everybody said that the Bell B30E provides a more comfortable ride,” confirms Michael Meagher. “Similarly, the Bell truck kept pace well with our existing ADTs, load for load.
“As a result, we were happy to purchase our first Bell ADT.”
The B30E is part of Bell Equipment’s ‘next generation’ E-series, which maintains the company’s virtues of exceptional fuel efficiency and the highest as-standard spec on the market, while also providing increased production payloads, lower daily operating costs, superior ride quality and uncompromised safety standards.
Since delivery, the Bell B30E has been working 24-hour shifts on an earthmoving contract, and D&M continues to be impressed by its performance. “Bell has been a good choice, and we’re happy we took the opportunity to explore the best the market has to offer,” concludes Michael Meagher.
In fact, D&M has been so impressed that the company has now ordered a second B30E from Bell.
