What will be Jungheinrich’s main focus at CeMAT 2018?

Jungheinrich will again be CeMAT's largest exhibitor in 2018. Under the motto "Your Connection to Success", we will be presenting products and solutions for intralogistics 4.0 to the international specialist audience from 23rd to 27th of April 2018 in Hanover. On more than 5,500 square meters of exhibition space in pavilions 33 and 34, at the outdoor exhibition we show our entire product portfolio. The focus will be on solutions from the fields of automation, networking and digitization as well as safety. A particular highlight is the lithium-Ion-Pavilion which will be integrated into the exhibition stand. Here we show why Jungheinrich is the international leader in the field of lithium-Ion-technology and why more lithium-Ion industrial trucks are in operation worldwide than any other intralogistics brand.

What is the current demand for lithium-ion batteries and will they replace the lead-acid batteries in the future?

Jungheinrich recognized the potential of lithium-ion technology at a very early stage. In 2011, we were the first company to launch a production vehicle with a lithium-ion battery. In our estimation, the trend away from lead-acid and towards lithium-ions will continue and even intensify. In the future, the energy storage system will become an increasingly central component of industrial trucks and significantly influence them. Important influencing factors here are the selection of the most suitable cell chemistry for the application, the IT connection between vehicle control, battery management system and charger, as well as the optimal integration of the energy modules into the vehicle concept. Jungheinrich offers its customers a perfectly coordinated overall package consisting of vehicle, battery and charger. Thus, we significantly influence the overall performance of our vehicles and maximize the benefits of our customers.

Many high expectations are put into (intra-) logistics 4.0. Is that justified?

Intralogistics 4.0 is one of the heart components of the fourth industrial revolution. Warehousing, materials handling and software make up a big whole. Man, machine and warehouse communicate, cooperate and complete one another. Jungheinrich is a pioneer here. Today we are a logistics system provider, software developer and machine builder in one. Each click on the order button of an online retailer triggers a complex logistical process. All the many necessary intralogistic steps between ordering and delivery are usually hidden from the consumer. The solutions from Jungheinrich ensure that everything runs smoothly. The entirety of these complex processes is summarized by us and the industry under the newly created term Intralogistics 4.0.
