  • Strautmann introduces the Hay Edition auger to enhance cutting and mixing performance for hay-based rations.

  • Developed in partnership with Agro-Technik Zulliger AG, the auger features short blades on each segment to improve chopping.

  • Benefits include more uniform hay chopping, shorter mixing times, reduced energy use, and lower cutting tool wear.

  • The Hay Edition is now available as an option for the Verti-Mix feed mixer wagon.

For hay-based rations, the cutting quality is a particular challenge for the feed mixer wagon. In Switzerland, where many farms practise hay feeding, the demand for reliable and efficient processing of hay and long-fibred feed is high. Together with the company Agro-Technik Zulliger AG, we have developed a technical solution to improve the cutting performance.

The result is the Hay Edition auger. Each segment of the auger is equipped with a short blade. This increases the cutting effect during the mixing process and the feed is more effectively chopped.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Mixing quality: More uniform chopping of the hay

  • Process times: Reduced mixing time

  • Efficiency: Reduced energy consumption during the mixing process

  • Operating costs: Reduced wear on the cutting tools

The Hay Edition screw is a practical solution that improves cutting performance, particularly when processing hay and long-fibred feed. This equipment option for the Verti-Mix is available now.
