BOMAG at the GaLaBau exhibition: New Trends, and one surprise

At this year’s show for the horticultural and landscaping industry taking place in Nuremberg, Germany from 14 to 17 September, BOMAG will be presenting under the motto “by experts for experts” in exhibition hall 7 (booth 222) and on the open-air exhibition grounds. In addition to the Economizer measuring system, which has a strong foothold in the market, and the unique Stoneguard paving plate, the company will showcase innovative solutions for the “green industry”. The world’s first gas-operated tamper and a vibratory plate, which, at only 47 kg, is the most lightweight in its class, will both be on display at the fair. In addition, BOMAG has significantly reduced hand-arm vibration on its hand-guided construction equipment, and the lightweight tandem rollers with diesel particulate filter and Tier 4 final engines are even more environmentally friendly than before. There are approximately 70 exhibits for the specialist visitors audience to touch and handle. And as a surprise highlight, visitors to the show can look forward to a design study on hand-guided vibratory plates.

BT 60 G and BT 65 G Gas tampers

As a practical, cost-effective and, at the same time, environmentally friendly solution for work in poorly ventilated locations such as production halls and trenches, BOMAG is showcasing the world’s first gas-operated tamper. The machine is equipped with a petrol engine but is operated using conventional gas. The tamper features extremely low carbon monoxide emissions of nearly zero percent. At this level , the tamper not only complies with the strictest occupational health guidelines but is also particularly friendly to the environment. With a long idle time of up to two hours and easy operation – all that is needed is a standard-issue gas cartridge – the tamper integrates perfectly into the flexible workflow of a construction site.

Lightweight, single direction BVP 10/30 plate

Witha working width of only 30 cm, BOMAG’s new, single direction BVP 10/30 vibratory plate is able to handle even the most confined working conditions and spaces, and with excellent results. Plus, this model offers exceptional manoeuvrability. At only 47 kg machine weight, this is the lightest plate model which can be easily transported from site to site, where it can be unloaded without additional loading devices – and is ready for immediate use. This vibratory plate is an affordable model, is extremely flexible in its use, and is particularly suitable for smaller specialised businesses and for the horticultural and landscaping industry. The BVP 10/30 will go on sale in October 2016.

Light equipment with 70% less hand-arm vibration

BOMAG had already equipped its entire light equipment range with new guide handles at bauma 2016 in Munich. These units now offer reduced hand-arm vibration values which are well below legal requirements. Optimisation of the handles, steering rods and damping elements noticeably reduce the vibratory stress on operators. On tampers, vibratory plates and hand-guided vibratory rollers: these improvements ensure highly ergonomic operation. Now hand -guided models can be used for an almost unlimited period of time by a single operator. Specific health-related instructions are unnecessary, and documentation requirements for operators are significantly reduced.

Lightweight tandem rollers with diesel particulate filter

BOMAG has expanded its range of models complying with Tier 4 final emission standards to lightweight tandem rollers. These include the models in the 1.8 t to 3.0 t (24.6 kW engine output) and 3.0 to 5.0 t (33.6 kW engine output) weight class. With proven Kubota engines, these models are powerful, fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly. The last point is of growing importance, as the environmental compatibility of construction equipment in the “green industry” is increasingly becoming a decisive competitive edge. By modernising these engines, BOMAG has opened up a wider range of applications, because these rollers are also perfectly equipped to handle jobs in cities which impose strict standards.

Design study in the area of vibratory plates

In addition to the above, visitors to the BOMAG booth can look forward to a surprise with our vibratory plates. At the GaLaBau, Boppard-based BOMAG will test a technological innovation for the first time, which is future-proof yet practical and cost-effective, for use by the horticultural and landscaping industry.
