Bomag Ibérica has a new Managing Director of its Spanish subsidiary

Mr. Ignacio Sanz assumed the role in June 1, 2025

Over the past 30 years, Sanz has held various leadership positions at both Maquinter and Bomag Ibérica, most recently serving as Commercial Director.

This change is part of Bomag’s efforts to strengthen its structure in the Spanish market following the acquisition and integration of Maquinter in August 2024. For more than three decades, Maquinter had been the distributor of Bomag’s full range of compaction and road construction equipment.

Sophie Benfredj, Bomag’s Sales Director for Europe and Latin America, expressed her confidence in the new leader’s capabilities: “We are confident that he will successfully lead Bomag’s still relatively young organization, thanks to his analytical skills and deep knowledge of the market and our customers.” In her statement, she also acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor: “We would like to thank Lorenzo for his professional collaboration and active support during the integration process and wish him all the best for the future.”

Ignacio Sanz will report directly to Benfredj and, during his transition period, will be supported by his predecessor, Lorenzo Wakonigg, who will remain with the subsidiary until the end of September to ensure a smooth handover. Bomag’s management emphasized their trust in Sanz’s experience and vision to continue expanding the brand’s presence in Spain, particularly in the asphalt segment.
