Breaking ground for the “AgroFarm”

In June, LEMKEN held a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony to launch the construction of the company’s new training centre near its Alpen headquarters. The centre, conveniently located next to agricultural fields, will provide optimum conditions for theoretical and practical implement training. After all, if our innovative implements for soil cultivation, tillage and crop protection are to yield optimum benefits on the field, we need to provide regular, detailed training not only for our own LEMKEN sales and service staff, but also for the agricultural machinery dealers we work with. Our new AgroFarm is scheduled for completion in May next year.

LEMKEN established a separate department for crop cultivation education and product-related training as early as in 2008, to address these issues appropriately, and the scope of training measures we offer has continually grown since, as we continue to develop our implements further and expand our company’s export share. Our various training programmes are attended by about 5,000 participants every year.

The training centre is ideally located only about 4 km from the LEMKEN headquarters in Alpen, right off the freeway for easy access. The 11,000 m² site will house a hall with a floor space of about 1,400 m², which will be divided into four thematic areas. Four training rooms of about 50 m² each, change rooms and offices will be located in an administrative building in front the hall. The existing farm house will be faithfully refurbished and then serve as foyer and for entertaining; parts of the house are also available as accommodation. However, the main advantage of the site is that LEMKEN is able to use surrounding arable land based on a cooperation with the local farmer.
