New Super-S1 boom for the UF mounted sprayer
The highly successful range of vertically folding Super-S2 booms, in working widths from 15 to 28 m, has now supplemented by the new, lesser expensive Super-S1 boom. Designed for the UF mounted sprayer, the new Super-S1 boom is available in working widths of 15 m, 18 m and 21 m.
The division of new boom sections results in less hinge points enabling a quicker folding. The well-known, robust profile design is still the convincing feature on these versions as well and, despite the 50 cm longer individual sections on the Super-S1 boom compared with the usual Super-S2 boom, the transport height still remains at less than 4 m. The compact transport width of 2.4 m is also maintained. But the new layout of the boom pack means that the centre of gravity of the machine is now positioned closer to the tractor and so can be used on smaller crop husbandry tractors. The Super-S1 boom, in working widths of 18 and 21 m, can be easily reduced to 15 m by folding in the outer boom section and in this way offers the biggest flexibility for farm overlapping situations in regions with small field sizes.
New Super-S2 boom with 30 m working width
At Agritechnica 2015, AMAZONE will introduce for the first time to the public a 30 m version of the proven Super-S2 boom. This boom is optimally suited to customers with medium sized fields who do not want to lose the advantages of a mounted sprayer with the Super-S2 boom concept. In this way, as a solo UF mounted sprayer or even as a small ‘self-propelled’ sprayer consisting of UF and FT front tank can also now be utilised in 30 m tramline systems.
Due to the 30/24/18/13 m folding sequence this version is also optimally suited for customers with differing tramline systems or for farm overlapping operations. The boom is the intelligent combination of steel and aluminium which is still manufactured following the proven profile design. So, the principles of the AMAZONE boom being very light yet at the same time being very robust are also maintained on these larger vertically-folding booms. Thanks to the additional use of aluminium, the new 30 m boom has been consequently further developed to make a light and rigid structure. The major benefit being that the narrow transport width of 2.4 m and the transport height of the existing Super-S boom has been maintained.
Super-L1 boom, now also for the UG
AMAZONE now offers a laterally-folding Super-L1 boom for the UG trailed sprayer. The boom is available in working widths from 21 to 28 m. The customer now can choose between the proven vertically-folding Super-S2 boom and the new laterally-folding Super-L1 boom. The boom range consists of a three-section folding version in working widths of 21 m, 24 m, 27 m and 28 m.
Increased flexibility with the 3 new boom versions
Apart from the high strength with less weight and the smooth boom ride, the high flexibility of the working widths characterises the AMAZONE booms. So, by folding in individual boom sections, the working width can be reduced which makes sense as it provides the ability to drive in different tramline systems with one boom. And this flexibility has now been increased further still by the three new booms.
At Agritechnica, AMAZONE will also introduce both a Super-S2 and also a Super-L2 boom in a 27 m working width which can be reduced by folding in the individual sections down to 21 m and 15 m.
In addition, a new version of the 33 m Super-L2 boom will be available in the future, which can be reduced to a working width of 27 m and 21 m. By an additional folding piece both these booms can still be reduced manually to 30 or 24 m respectively.
With these two new variants, farms with different tramline systems and also professional agricultural contractors carrying out crop protection work can optimally meet the needs of their customers without having to make available a number of sprayers with different boom widths. These boom divisions are ideally suited to the 3 m seed drill world.
