Canopy Brands, a family of esteemed brands, has announced the acquisition of the rack-and-pinion and electric suspended scaffold divisions of Alba-Macrel Group (commonly known as “Alba”), a specialist in lifting equipment.

Founded in 1957 in the Basque Country, Alba is a leading manufacturer of rack-and-pinion lifts and suspended platforms, with a presence in 77 countries. Its U.S. distributor, Bee Access, is a division of Canopy Brands. Alba´s product line includes lifts for personnel and materials, transport platforms, rack-and-pinion platforms, and electric suspended scaffolding. With over 20,000 m² of facilities, in-house engineering, and automated manufacturing equipment, Alba is well-positioned to grow alongside Canopy.

Alba represents an excellent strategic fit for Bee Access, the North American leader in temporary and permanent access solutions. This acquisition enhances international distribution, strengthens rack-and-pinion-focused teams, and expands growth opportunities, particularly as construction elevators increasingly serve as alternatives to traditional tube-and-clamp scaffolding.

Brian Colton, CEO of Canopy Brands, remarked: “We are thrilled to welcome Alba into our company and accelerate its growth with additional capital, talent, and technology.” Tom Dejong, Executive Vice President of Bee Access, added, “Alba has a winning product line and a strong foundation. We will help Alba reach its full potential as a manufacturer of lifting equipment for construction markets worldwide.” Raúl Gallo, COO of Alba, stated, “Over the past two years, we have built a strong relationship with the Bee Access team, and we are proud to begin this new chapter with such a capable partner.”

Alba will continue to operate normally from its plant in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos, Spain), maintaining consistency in its production, engineering, sales and support staff, and all key assets, including the Alba brand, website, and intellectual property.

Canopy Brands takes a significant step forward in building a sustainable company that positively impacts its markets and fosters an environment where its team can reach their full potential. For more information, visit www.canopybrands.us, www.beeaccess.com, and www.alba.es.
