The Italian family company is expanding its leading role for 3-point linkages and hitches and invests in its locations and new products. Strong commitment in the German market in 2015
In its annual review of the 2014 financial year, the traditional Italian company stated that it is satisfied with the results of the individual divisions and the international production sites. Despite a slight decline tractor market in Western Europe and more pronounced declines in other Western markets, production in each product area remained at the high 2013 level, the Group's revenue by 181 billion € on the level of the previous year.
CBM continues its upward trend
Enrico Cornia, managing director, emphasized that this was possible only on the basis of the trustful cooperation with the tractor manufacturers and distributors. CBM now supplies worldwide all major manufacturer with top links and three-point linkage and was able to expand the scope of supply in each product area yet. According to the company statement, already 8 out of 10 top links are produced by CBM. Opti-Lock, the new generation of lower link hooks, were very well received especially in the German market and have contributed to the positive overall development. Likewise CBM could expand its role as a development partner for manufacturers, especially in the high power range, where with Fendt, in example, top links are being developed for the 500hp class.
As an indicator of the positive trend CBM also referred to the development of replacement and aftermarket sales. This is valued in Modena on the one hand as a result of the commitment of distributors as Kramp and Fricke, but on the other hand, the positive perception of the CBM products - especially in the German market, which is often described by Cornia be very demanding but constructive.
CBM announced in this context that the commitment to the German market in 2015 will be continued and expanded. CBM put emphasis on neutral tests in the trade press and customer testimonials. Objective is an open and direct communication in the market so that the entire product range of CBM are known better among the users.
Company considers itself positioned very good
In this context, Enrico Cornia also announces further innovations in the product line, which will be presented the step by step until the Agritechnica in Hanover and will then be presented in context. CBM will, states Cornia, give answers to the growing demands of the market, but cannot be moved to tell further details. Special attention will also be addressed to its range of CBM hitching systems. With a full range of products in this segment, CBM sees a high potential for its products and plans for an intensification of market activities in 2015.
The investment for 2014/15 in the production sites Cornia designated to be "strategically direction setting." After the plants in Poland and northern Italy were placed with the latest standards in 2013, last year constructions for a second production in India were started, there CBM has become the most important supplier of native (worldwide largest) tractor production.
Also in the main plant in Modena currently incisive construction are going on. Two new hall complexes expand the area of logistics/ production and product development/quality control. This is, according to Cornia, part of CBM´s growth strategy and serves primarily the further expansion of product and delivery quality.
Even if the CBM management expects further consolidations of the tractor market in the current fiscal year, they are very confident for the companies development in the coming years. On the part of the products and the strategic direction of the company Enrico Cornia sees the family business very well prepared and positioned to meet the challenges or changes in the market for agricultural technology.
