Despite the challenging economic and geopolitical environment, the European construction equipment industry shows notable resilience.
CECE’s Business Barometer index stayed on high levels throughout the first quarter of the year. With incoming orders calming down slightly – especially on the European home market – industry order backlog and production capacity utilization are getting closer to normal levels. European manufacturers are still most optimistic about the North American market.
To a lesser extent, there is also confidence in Latin America and India. All European markets are currently seen positive by the manufacturers.
