CECE’s high-level technical group discuss digitalization and emissions in construction

On 15th May 2019 the High-Level Technical Policy Advisory Group (HLTPAG) met in Brussels. The group consists of CTO's of member companies and advises CECE with regard to strategic positioning, sector priorities and industry positions on technical and environmental subjects.

The group chaired by Pelle Bokedal, Volvo CE welcomed Mr Geert van der Linden from the European Commission, DG Move. Mr van der Linden introduced Commission's initiative on connected vehicles in the on-road sector and afterwards engaged informally in a fruitful exchange of views with the group. 

HLTPAG approached other topics during the meeting such as CECE's approach towards digitalisation to better understand sector's dynamics and evolution, addressing the changes triggered by new digital technologies. Regulatory update was presented by CECE Technical Commission's Chair Stefan Nilsson, Volvo CE.  The update on #Openfactory project was appreciated by the group.

Alan Tolley, JCB, chair of CECE High-Level Group on CO2, made a report of the discussions and decisions made during the meeting that took place the day before. Afterwards, Mr Martin Burgat, EU Public Affairs Manager for Volvo, gave a detailed presentation on the EU regulation on CO2 emission from heavy-duty vehicles.

The group will meet again on 12th September 2019.
