CeMAT RUSSIA: Growing demand for Intralogistics solutions in Russia

Featuring some 200 exhibitors, CeMAT RUSSIA begins its three-day run on 19 September. All signs are positive, also thanks to the steadily growing demand for intralogistics solutions in Russia. According to the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), exports by German manufacturers were up last year by 40 percent, for a total of 394 million euros. This year’s CeMAT RUSSIA exhibitors include leading manufacturers such as Beumer, Bohnenkamp, Chep, Honeywell, Kaup, Manitou, PSI Logistics, SAP, Savoye, SSI Schäfer, Still, the TVH Group and Vanderlande.

“CeMAT RUSSIA has firmly established itself in the Russian trade fair market, as logistics decision-makers know they will receive tailor-made solutions for their special requirements there,” reports Krister Sandvoss, Global Director of CeMAT on behalf of the Deutsche Messe group of companies.

Among the event’s longstanding and highly satisfied exhibitors is the Hamburg-based intralogistics provider STILL, which has been highly active in the Russian logistics market for years, having opened its own offices in a number of key centers there at an early stage. Thanks to its broad positioning, STILL is able to meet the requirements of a broad range of customers – from food logistics for major chain stores and applications in mechanical engineering to the highly individual requirements of specialized firms. “STILL’s special expertise in solving intralogistics challenges is in great demand in Russia, too,” remarked Yaroslav Andreev, Sales Director at STILL Forklift Trucks, adding: “STILL offers a comprehensive range of custom, best-fit automation technology –a huge trend market in Russia, and one in which we are responding to by teaming up with sister companies like Dematic. We also offer custom solutions for highly individual requirements – for example particularly high-grade products for tough applications on industrial trucks. At this year’s CeMAT RUSSIA in Moscow we’ll be highlighting our automation solutions as well as our low-platform trucks ECU 15C, ECH12 and ECV 10C – the future of the light vehicle class. The FM-X with lithium-ion batteries and the new RX 20 will also be on display. We will continue to stay close to our customers so that we can set up and operate the best possible intralogistics for them. We particularly appreciate the close contact with our customers at trade fairs like CeMAT RUSSIA. In addition, we are happy to put ourselves up for comparison with our competitors. A successful trade fair appearance is always an important milestone for us.”

The market research agency M.A. Research estimates that Russia's logistics industry is expected to grow by 7.5 percent annually through 2020. Logistics hubs in the country are mushrooming – a development driven by online retailing. The Russian eCommerce market totaled 15 billion euros in sales in 2017, with annual growth of 20 percent. Bricks-and-mortar retailers are also pushing ahead with the development of their online sales channels and investing in the construction of large logistics centers. Not only Russian online retailers such as Wildberries are investing in new warehouse capacity, but Chinese companies like Alibaba as well.

CeMAT 2019 will be staged in Moscow from 24 to 26 September.

CeMAT RUSSIA 2018 is organized by Moscow-based OOO Deutsche Messe RUS, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Messe group of companies, and ITE Group Plc, an English exhibition organizer with offices in 11 countries. Starting in 2019, OOO Deutsche Messe RUS will be the sole organizer of CeMAT RUSSIA.
