Hannover/São Paulo. After an exceptionally good launch in 2011, CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA looks set for similar success later this year in São Paulo. Trade show organizers Deutsche Messe are optimistic, not least due to the approx. 250 exhibitors expected at the event: “The countries of South America, many of them boasting vibrant, growing economies, offer countless new opportunities and business openings for the entire logistics and intralogistics sector. Numerous international manufacturers are already based there, while others are expected to follow, encouraged by the prospect of stable market growth. CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA offers every exhibitor a perfect setting for showcasing new products and attracting new business. Even at the time of its debut, this event was clearly the leading trade fair in South America for intralogistics. “We will continue to consolidate and develop the event. We have introduced new topics and confidently expect significant growth”, reports Dr. Andreas Gruchow, member of the Board at Deutsche Messe AG.

According to figures published by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA e.V.) Brazil is ninth among the world’s biggest suppliers of intralogistics. In 2010, Brazilian companies generated sales of 3.1 billion euros, which marked a 45 percent increase on 2009. Brazil is also becoming an increasingly interesting market for German intralogistics suppliers. In 2010 intralogistics products valued at 331 million euros were exported to Brazil. This represents an increase of 27 percent compared with 2009.

CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA takes place from 19-22 March 2013 on a 30,000 square metre display area at the São Paulo trade fair centre, Centro de Exposicoes Imigrantes. The trade fair embraces every aspect of intralogistics ranging from handling, storage systems and warehousing to packaging and order picking technology. Transport technology, intralogistics systems and software, plus the entire gamut of logistics services complete the range of exhibits at CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA.

Leading manufacturers of forklift trucks and handling equipment will be demonstrating their products on a special presentation area. Companies such as Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Toyota, Clark, Hyster, Yale and Crown are among some of the big-name exhibitors. A number of them already have production plant in South America, however it is a market that will be of interest to many companies.

“We have built a new factory in Indaiatuba/São Paulo. It is a production facility for both LINDE AND STILL fuel-powered forklift trucks and warehousing equipment for the Brazilian and wider South American market. Thanks to our extensive distribution and service network, we are in an excellent position to do business in South America and will be able to make the most of the burgeoning market opportunities there. Our presence at CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA will help determine where we position our STILL and Linde brands”, explains Gordon Riske, Chairman of the Managing Board of the KION Group. Linde Material Handling, FENWICK, STILL, OM, Baoli and Voltas all belong to the KION Group.

The international company viastore systems has also identified South America as a strategically important future market and is targeting Brazil. “In regions such as Asia and South America we have observed an increase in demand for innovative logistics solutions. We want to have a share in this growth and continue to play an active part in developing the market”, says Philipp Hahn-Woernle, Managing Director of viastore systems GmbH, Stuttgart. viastore systems will be joined by other major systems manufacturers such as Dematic, Knapp, Stöcklin and Vanderlande at CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA.
