Cenius TX mulch cultivator - Larger working widths with integrated running gear

New Cenius 6003-2TX and 7003-2TX mulch cultivator

With the new Cenius TX series in working widths of 6 m and 7 m, AMAZONE expands their proven mulch cultivator programme. Now, also larger sized farms with higher tractor capacities have the possibility to get to know the superb operational performance of the Cenius. With this new development from AMAZONE, the range of passive soil cultivation equipment is further supplemented.

In addition to the proven mounted models in working widths of 3 m, 3.5 m and 4 m, the Cenius in this range is also available as the Cenius-T trailed version. Here the wedge ring roller serves as the running gear. The foldable Cenius 4002-T in a 4 m working width, introduced at SIMA 2013, features a separate chassis at the rear of the roller. The existing product programme is supplemented now by their big brother, the Cenius TX, which can be operated flexibly as a universal cultivator down to a working depth of 30 cm.

Features of the Cenius TX

The 4-row layout of the new C-Mix tines, with a tine spacing of 28 cm and the frame height of 80 cm, ensures a diverse and blockage-free operation. The newly designed drawbar includes, as standard, hydraulic lift. As an option, a selectable traction system is available. When activated it additionally transfers part of the machine weight back on to the rear axle of the tractor with up to 1,500 kg being available at the maximum working depth. This improves the traction between the tyres and the soil, thus reducing slippage, saving fuel and increasing work rates. In spite of the compact design, the use of twin tyres on the tractor is possible without any problems.

The Cenius TX is coupled to the tractor via the lower links, a towing eye or a K80 ball coupling. This flexibility allows its use on tractors with caterpillar tracks or centre pivot steering as well as the use of standard tractors.

Together with the newly developed C-Mix Super pressure spring overload safety device, the tine element in the centre of the machine provides a perfect working performance even when top soil deep loosening. The release force on this C-Mix Super tine overload safety device is more than 600 kg and clears to a height of 300 mm, allowing efficient and continuous operation, even under the most arduous of conditions.

The C-Mix Special tine with its shear bolt overload safety device is the alternative for light and medium light soils without stones.

Fast on the road

The integrated running gear provides the machine with a high manoeuvrability both, on the road and in the field. On the Cenius TX, the 550/45-22.5 sized tyres come as standard. When equipped with air braking, a fast transport speed of 40 km/h is permitted.

The levelling discs ensure a smooth surface finish and prepare the soil flow for the final crumbling or reconsolidation. The adjustment of the levelling discs is carried out at the side of the machine quickly, safely and without tools. The setting, via just two spindles, offers maximum comfort and operational reliability.

At the front of the machine, support wheels carry out the depth guidance. At the rear of the machine the depth rollers take over this task.

Depending on the type of soil, different depth rollers provide either intense crumbling or reconsolidation. The proven wedge ring, knife ring, tandem and cage rollers as seen previously from AMAZONE can be used.

Maximum comfort

For farms with uniform soil conditions, the standard mechanical and tool-less setting of the working depth on the implement is perfectly adequate.

If it is intended to adjust the working depth whilst on-the-move to react to varying soil conditions or to repair harmful compaction, the optionally available step-less hydraulic depth control is recommended.

The depth setting of the support wheels, of the running gear and of the depth roller are synchronised through a sophisticated hydraulic system via a double acting control valve – a big gain in comfort for the Cenius TX!

Maximum flexibility

In very wet conditions, in late autumn or when preparing the field prior to winter, the Cenius TX can be operated without a depth roller. In this special case the chassis serves as the depth control. A swivel clip system then fixes the working depth. The tines at the rear of the wheels serve as wheel mark eradicators to ensure a level finish.

When working with depth rollers, the required lift height of the running gear is accurately defined for a minimum turnaround time on the headland. If during operation the working depth is adjusted, the lift height of the wheels is automatically matched via the hydraulic system. In this way any “running along” of the wheels is prevented. If, on sites with very light soils where some additional help from the transport wheels is desired, this can also be set.

The heart of the cultivator: the shares

The operational spectrum of the Cenius TX ranges from shallow stubble work, via the top soil deep loosening, through to seedbed preparation. Of course this requires a matching range of shares.

Within the framework of the development for the Cenius TX, the existing share programme was supplemented by the newly developed C-Mix share system.

The separation of guide plate from the share tip above all serves to reduce wearing metal costs. Depending on soil type, site and soil moisture, 3 to 5 share tips can be worn prior to exchanging the guide plate.

The new guide plates of the C-Mix system are equipped with a spiral to ensures an intensive mixing effect.

The C-Mix share system includes the following options:

C-Mix wing share 350 mm

•   Working depth of 8 to 12 cm

•   Overall cutting off of stubbles and interruption of the capillary water draw

•   Shallow surface mixing of volunteer grains and weed seeds

•   Intense mixing effect when used in combination with the C-Mix share 100 and the guide plate

•   Removable wings when using the C-MIX 100 for top soil deep loosening

C-Mix tip 100 mm with guide plate 100 mm

•   Working depth of 10 to 20 cm

•   Universal operation from stubble work down to primary soil tillage

•   Intensive soil movement, distinct mixing effect when used in combination with spiral guide plate

C-Mix tip 80 mm with guide plate 80 mm

•   Working depth of 12 to 30 cm

•   For primary soil tillage down to full top soil depth

•   Intense loosening and straw incorporation in conjunction with spiral guide plate

•   The share is tapered in its width to 50 mm at the tip resulting in:

     – Perfect entry force even under the most arduous of conditions

     – Simultaneously the material thickness is increased at the share tip by 20%

     – Improved protection against wear

Share programme so far

The share programme currently includes the following share sets:

•   The duck foot or stubble share for shallow and all-over soil tillage

•   The inversion share as a universal share from stubble work to primary soil tillage

•   The narrow share for primary soil tillage

With this new share system, AMAZONE now offers a superb spectrum of shares providing the individual solution for any customer. Thus the Cenius TX is a very flexible machine that can be operated in all soil cultivation systems on modern arable farms.
