Christian Voß, Head of Purchasing at klickrent at NordBau 2023: "The topic of renting brings many advantages"

Aleksandra Jastrzab: Mr. Voß, as a start-up company, what do you think about trade fairs, do you prefer to meet your customers in person or virtually?

Christian Voß: Personal contact in the rental business is essential for us in our business model. So, with all the digitalization, we always look forward to the personal meetings.

AJ: What do you think of the increasing tendency to rent large machines instead of buying new ones?

CV: Well, we'd be lying if we as a rental company said we didn't want to support that. But there are also advantages to renting. On the one hand, it has economic advantages in that I don't have any capital tied up, I have the option of using the machines when I really need them, which means that there is virtually no downtime from my own machines. I can rent the machines I need for my construction project. Another possible advantage is that I am more independent of location. For example, if I now imagine that we are in Neumünster today, I am a construction company based in Neumünster, we get a very lucrative contract in Munich tomorrow. Would it be questionable from an ecological point of view, whether I should move all my construction equipment/materials to Munich for a construction period of one week, or whether it would not be smarter to rent equipment there? That is a great advantage that we see in it, increasingly also to the fact that the wheels or technology, which is installed in it, become more and more expensive ultimately.

AJ: What kind of construction equipment is most in demand on the rental market lately?

CV: In fact, we have noticed that there is a lot of demand for access equipment - everything that involves heavy platforms, working platforms, rotary forklifts. Mobile room systems, but just so there is just by the topic refugee giant or school buildings. This is increasing significantly and is currently in great demand. It was the same in the years before, but due to Corona, there was a bottleneck around mobile systems. These are areas that are coming out right now and are currently very much in demand.

AJ: What would you like to achieve at NordBau 2023?

CV: We want to make ourselves more visible, so we are grateful to be able to participate in the Start Up Stage in this area. We are looking forward to welcoming many of our rental partners at NordBau and to see for ourselves what new equipment is available on the market. To be able to experience these even limited live. We are also happy to meet new customers and to welcome existing customers. That is what we are most looking forward to and what we would like to achieve.
