Colombian President Visits Hyundai Heavy

Colombian President Mr. Juan Manuel Santos Visited  Hyundai Heavy Industries today along with Trade Minister Mr. Sergio Diaz-Granados and Mines and Energy Minister Mr. Carlos Rodado Noriega.

President Santo, the third Colombian president to visit Hyundai Heavy, had a meeting with Hyundai Heavy’s Chairman Mr. Min Keh-sik and senior vice president &CEO Mr.Kim Oi-hyun to discuss mutual economic cooperation.

After the meeting, President Santos had a tour  of Hyundai’s Heavy’s shipyard in which 40 very large-size ships are currently being built .He also toured the marine engine factory. Hyundai Heavy has a 35% market share of the global marine engine sector.

Hyundai Heavy Industries exports more then USD 10 million of construction equipment including excavators and wheel loaders to Colombia each year. Moreover, when the FTA currently being discussed comes into effect, exports to Colombia are expected to increase further.
