Construction Brand Rating

In the machinery world, it is quite complicated to find reliable and structured feedback from construction machinery users and operators on the machines they have been using, which would be beneficial not only for other users or buyers, but also for the manufacturers themselves. We have dedicated ourselves to solving this task and begun our mission.

Fortunately, we own a large web portal, LECTURA Specs, with heavy machinery and equipment specifications and technical details, which has become the backbone of our solution. The web portal generates a monthly traffic of approximately 300,000 sessions with around 400,000 machines checked by visitors from various countries. Moreover, around 43% of this traffic comes from end-users, making the web portal an ideal place for such a solution.

So, we have set up a questionnaire and targeted exactly this audience, in order to collect enough data and opinions to come up with our construction machinery rating, which would reflect the operator’s/user’s opinions on particular brands and manufacturers. In the questionnaire, we asked our visitors, whether they have operated the specific machine model, and if so, to recommend it on a scale from 0 to 10. If they have not operated the machine, we asked them to rate the reliability of the machine’s brand on the same scale from 0 to 10.

Moreover, as we have collected and sourced the data in cooperation with users, we have helped to establish a global cooperating community, making our statistics maximally relevant.

We have received many opinions not only from experienced operators, who use the machines on a daily basis, but also from people such as dealers, renters, buyers or customers who somehow came in contact with the machines, yet would like to fully express their opinion and we are interested in both cases.

We are very proud of our professional, global audience, but even so we were positively surprised by their engagement. Between October 2017 and February 2019, we have received 79,325 replies in total. We collected them all, summarized and the construction brand rating was created. The ratings were collected from users from over 213 countries, but the majority (70%) came from 22 countries. The users rated machines from various construction categories, including excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, skid steer loaders, backhoes, telehandlers or rollers.

We have also designed the LECTURA Badges, serving as a proof of company reputation.

These ratings are updated over time as the data collecting continues and the results are evaluated on the fly.
