Spain's construction machinery market grew by 10% in 2025, with over 9,000 units sold, continuing a recovery trend since 2012.
-
Earthmoving equipment led growth with a 23% increase, while compaction and lifting segments also showed solid gains.
-
Crushing and screening equipment sales surged by 500%, though from a low base.
-
Compact machinery sales declined by 3%, marking a continued decrease in this segment.
With more than 9,000 units sold, the market consolidates its recovery after growing 4.5% in the first half of the year, supported as well by the positive performance of the lifting segment, despite the slight decline recorded in compact machinery.
With these results, the market continues its upward trajectory after hitting bottom in 2012, a trend only interrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Spanish Manufacturers Association of Construction and Mining Equipment (ANMOPYC) prepares the annual report on the construction machinery market in Spain through a specialized working group known as MMCE – Spanish Construction Machinery Market. In early February, the group released the report for the newly concluded 2025 financial year, confirming a 10% increase in sales compared to 2024, reaching a total of 9,059 machines sold, compared to 8,239 units in 2024.
The 2025 financial year was marked by the strong progress of production machinery, the consolidation of compaction equipment, and the positive performance of the lifting market.
In the 2025 machinery sales results compared to 2024, nearly all segments contributed positively:
-
Earthmoving equipment, with an excellent 23% increase;
-
Compaction equipment, up 6%;
-
Lifting equipment, with telehandlers growing an estimated 13%;
-
Crushing and screening equipment, with a 500% increase.
However, this last segment traditionally operates with low volumes, meaning that small absolute variations have a significant impact on percentage changes.
By contrast, sales of compact machinery or “minis” fell by 3%, the same decline recorded the previous year.
