Continental HD Hybrid multifunction tire: A complete product for all-rounders

Hanover, Germany, June 15, 2011. The success story of the Continental HD Hybrid continues in 2011. This universal tire for regional and long-distance usage impressively established itself on the European transport market as soon as it was launched last year. The multi-talent among truck tires also comes in a wide range of sizes as a ContiRe retread tire

Thanks to the combination of grooves and blocks in the tread, the HD Hybrid covers all common usage conditions for heavy trucks in an ideal way. The three-dimensional structure of the tread is based on a unique design concept with constant tread pattern proportions.  From brand new condition to its final miles, the combined groove/block tread of the HD Hybrid ensures the lowest possible rolling resistance and thus lowest possible consumption.

Over the course of its working life, the groove-shaped tread structures develop into high-grip sipes. In the meantime, the sipes, which are initially Void-generating Sipes, become grooves as wear progresses. As a result, the ratio of gripping sipes and particularly quiet running grooves in the tread does not change over the entire life of the HD Hybrid. The additional formed block tread structure of the HD Hybrid ensures that this universal tire with excellent traction properties performs without limitations even away from the freeway and in adverse weather conditions.

Thanks to its all-round capabilities and the wide range of sizes, Continental’s HD Hybrid has managed to secure a large share of the market across Europe in the heavy truck class — and trends point to a further increase. Like all regular tire types from Continental’s newly introduced, innovative second generation, the HD Hybrid is now also available in all sizes as a ContiRe retread tire. The HD Hybrid thus starts its second life again as a tire with two faces following its successful career as a new product.

The Continental HD Hybrid is also available as a ContiRe retread tire in the following sizes: 295/60 R 22.5, 315/60 R 22.5, 295/80 R 22.5, 315/70 R 22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5.
