Crown, one of the world’s largest material-handling companies, is launching a new generation of the company’s popular very narrow aisle lift trucks. The new TSP Series combines proven forklift engineering with cutting-edge technologies that deliver an intuitive operator experience, improved ergonomics and even more efficient order picking capabilities.

“Our VNA trucks, which have proven themselves in practice many times over, are designed so they can be precisely adapted to specific applications,” explains Sven Vorreiter, Senior Manager Product Marketing at Crown. “Whether they’re moving full pallets or picking high above the ground, operators always have the great feeling of being in total control thanks to the lift truck’s exceptional ergonomics and comfortable working environment.”

Wirelessly connected

Reflecting this systematic concentration on the operator, the TSP Series now also features Gena, Crown’s cutting-edge operating system, which includes the option of seamless integration with Crown’s tried and tested InfoLink fleet management system. Intuitive, customisable and interactive, Gena provides a personalised operator experience, delivering all the most important data and information clearly and concisely via a 7-inch colour touchscreen, in one of more than 40 operator-selectable languages. Customisable widgets display key truck functions – such as operating hours, steering angle and battery state of charge – in real time, ensuring that the information is easy to see, understand and use.

Gena also features the intuitive Capacity Data Monitor, which provides at-a-glance details of load weights, lift heights and capacity limits. Colour-coded visuals – similar to a traffic-light system – indicate the truck’s current status to operators so they can stay within specified load limits.

Advanced semi-automation technologies facilitate optimal workflows

Crown also supplies two optional, RFID-based semi-automation technologies for the TSP Series – and they are both easy and intuitive to use. The Auto Fence system automatically restricts the lift truck’s travel speed or lift height depending on where the truck is located – at the end of an aisle, for example, at intersections or in areas with lower ceilings. The Auto Positioning System (APS) automates travel and lift functions to deliver the most efficient route to the next storage location. The system saves even more time by simultaneously performing the travel as well as the main and auxiliary lift functions of the VNA truck. As a result, productivity improves by as much as 25 percent, regardless of the operator’s relative experience or skills.

The mast is what matters

When operators are working with loads more than 17 metres above the ground, they are dependent on the truck’s stability. Thanks to Crown’s exclusive MonoLift mast, even heavy loads – weighing more than a tonne – can be moved around at impressive heights. Because of its boxed-in design and heavy-gauge steel construction, the mast is much less subject to twisting and swaying than traditional, dual-upright masts. When combined with the ergonomic MoveControl seat, the mast’s unique design gives operators an unbeatable all-around field of vision. Telescopic forks make it easier to keep distance from racking so that trucks can manoeuvre more rapidly even in narrow aisles.

The MoveControl seat delivers unprecedented versatility, enabling operators to stay relaxed while they are working. Operators can comfortably assume one of four positions that best fits the task at hand..Controls built into the armrests, together with a wide variety of adjustment options, support the operator’s every movement. Operators can also conveniently control the Gena interface via a display navigation knob remotely positioned in the armrest.

For customised energy solutions, a wide range of V-Force lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries is available, along with matching battery chargers. The appropriate solution can be selected and adjusted to fit each customer’s specific application requirements and on-site infrastructure.
