CTE and Genie: 25 years of partnership celebrated with an Open Day

In the Italian city of Mantua, in the beautiful location of Go Parc (amusement park), CTE and Genie have received large numbers of customers to celebrate 25 years of partnership with an Open Day dedicated to the presentation of new products and a lot of live demos.

Considering recent launch of new Genie products and following the arrival of the new CTE ZED 21 JH (World Premiere at Intermat Paris), could not miss an Open Day held on May 4th to present these very interesting news at the Italian customers.

The fleet presented, consisting in 5 truck-mounted platforms (ZED 20 CH, ZED 21 JH, ZED 26 J, B-LIFT 20.13 MULTIPURPOSE and B-LIFT 510 HIGH RANGE), 1 spider-lift (TRACCESS 170), 5 self-propelled (GENIE GTH 2506, GS 3369 RT, GS 4047, GR 26J and Z 40 NRJ) and 1 powered low level access (POWER TOWER NANO), has gained a considerable interest from customers, expressed by several demos on the platforms exposed made ​​for the entire day.

The open-day was not entirely dedicated to the presentation of products, but alternating moments dedicated to the demo and equally exciting moments for the kart race in the largest European indoor track of Go Parc in Mantua.

An important moment was the presentation of the history of CTE and Genie, from the beginning to today, and the partnership signed in 1987 which provided for CTE the exclusive sale of Genie product in Italy.

PLATFORMS ON DISPLAY: CTE

NEW - ZED 21 JH: represents the meeting between the peculiarities of the ZED 21 J (21 m working height with jib 2.1 m), the CTE patented stabilization system with connecting rods, and the concept of increased capacity presented recently with the ZED 20 CSH. The machine is configured in an optimal manner, both from the technical and operative point of view, in order to have a load of 300 kg on the basket over the entire working area without limitations. This means that anyone can work with a small footprint on the road, less than 3 m in width, without any way impair the safety and the performance, thanks to the zero “footprint tail”. This lets you use this machine to its full capacity and in a range of varied applications. The loading of 300 kg in the basket is a great news for the platforms market sector, as is the only one that allow 300 kg of loading capacity at 21 m of working height (B driver license). The boom is being completely redesigned, more compact and less bulky: now is in fact parallel to the articulated arm. Then The jib: the inclination of the jib has been increased by 30 ° in positive, from 110 ° to 145 °, the modification was made to make more flexible use of the boom to particular jobs, such as the trusses. The tubes are positioned inside the boom and result to be repaired and then protected. At the end, to ensure better visibility and to be more user-friendly, the controls are positioned tilted towards the operator and repaired by a new cover panel, more ergonomic of the previous versions.

B-Lift 20.13 MULTIPURPOSE: awarded the IAPA AWARD 2011 as best “Product of the Year – Vehicle/Trailer Mounted”, B-Lift 20.13 Multipurpose catches everybody’s attention thanks to its innovative features which add a lof of versatility. B-LIFT 20.13 MP’s most remarkable feature is the patented slewing mechanism, which is mounted on top of the lower telescopic boom, an absolutely innovative design which the international market had never seen before. It’s neither a “telescopic” nor an “articulated” platform, but simply a “MULTIPURPOSE” unit offering a working height of 20 m with good up-and over reach and with variable jacking, but also offering the possibility to work as a pure telescopic up to 13 m, and completely without jacks up to 11m. It operates in all boom positions with zero tail-swing, but causes no obstruction over the working side, either, allowing to get closer to buildings or obstacles and therefore offering more reach than conventional articulated units. Outriggers can be controlled from the basket, in a semi- or fully automatic, selflevelling mode. Controls are proportional and simultaneous, and the ground control station features a display for machine fault diagnosis. Thanks to its remarkable design, B-Lift 20.13 Multipurpose is very successful in the very competitive Italian, but also in the German and French markets. B-Lift 20.13 Multipurpose is well appreciated by people working on installation, maintenance and monitoring of equipment, or on roofs and balconies of buildings (civil, commercial and industrial). Applications which require a quick and frequent deployment will find the telescopic, variable jacking or no-jacking operation quite practical.

ZED 20 CH: The articulated truck-mounted platform with Z boom and H stabilization has attracted a lot of customers in the demanding German market as well as in the competitive Italian. It is the latest development within the ZED family – CTE’s brand indentifying units with articulated arm with Z configuration – and features, as an absolute innovation, a vertical stabilization linked with connecting rods to the horizontal beam extension. The system enables the motion of the beam and of the stabilizer in only one movement, with a single cylinder. This design is a CTE patent, and has already been tested on the ZED 26 JH. It allows to stabilize the machine near a footpath without outriggers skidding. ZED 20 CH is ideal to operate in narrow places and allows to adjust to obstacles (i.e. sidewalks) during the stabilization up to 220 mm in height, 83% more than A+A version (120mm).

B-LIFT 510 HR: thanks to its stateliness but at the same time minimal design, this machine is the CTE flag for the C-driving license segment. B-Lift 510 HR reaches a 51 m working height on a 26 tons 3 axles vehicle. HR stands for Hi Range, an important engineering project launched some years ago by CTE to compete on the Northern European, and American, fire fighting and industrial market. One of the benefits of B-Lift 510 HR is the possibility to include in the standard configuration the working area adjustment linked to the outrigger deployment position with an outreach of over 34 m and a max basket loading capacity of 450 kilos. A remarkable performance for a compact vehicle at around 10 meters length.

TRACCESS 170: Traccess is the first spider with reduced dimensions ideals for operating at heights from 13 m up to 22.6 m It can pass trough doorway of 2 m height and can work inside. Traccess can easily be transported on a truck. With superb autonomy, and agile on uneven terrain, Traccess is the ideal alternative for construction companies and plant installers who would otherwise be forced to use an aerial platform. Traccess 170 reach 17 m of working height, 7,5 m of outreach and a loading capacity of 200 kg. Available also in the electric version with the model TRACCESS 170 E: pay attention to the ecology thanks to lithium batteries capable of ensuring an autonomous operation of the platform about 5 hours of work. Allows to work with no smoke or noise, typical of the combustion engine, in full compliance with the requirements of environmental protection.

The well tested formula with alternation between moments dedicated to demos and training and events dedicated to the fun-karts, was very successful. All guests have shown great interest and active participation, thus increasing loyalty to the CTE philosophy.
