DEUTZ’s TTCD 7.8 engine is ‘Stage V certified’ ahead of Agritechnica

The engine manufacturer DEUTZ has been awarded the EU Stage V certificate for its sixcylinder TTCD 7.8 model ahead of the Agritechnica trade fair. DEUTZ’s powerful in-line engine is ideally suited to heavy-duty tractor applications thanks to its extremely compact design and twin turbochargers. In addition, the structural oil sump functions as part of the chassis. The TTCD 7.8 generates maximum torque of 1,565 Nm at 1,500 min-1. Because the engine and efficient exhaust aftertreatment are designed for optimum performance of the system as a whole, they ensure that fuel consumption and overall running costs are kept to a minimum.

In September 2017, DEUTZ had already become the world’s first engine manufacturer to be certified for the EU Stage V emissions standard, initially for the TTCD 6.1 and then for its TCD 3.6 and TCD 4.1 models. Under the banner ‘OUR PROMISE – YOUR FLEXIBILITY’, the Cologne-based engine specialist is showcasing its ‘Stage V certified’ range from 12 to 18 November at Agritechnica in Hannover – the leading international trade fair for agricultural machinery, components and services. Changing from the current EU Stage IV to Stage V requires no additional installation space for the engines, thus avoiding expensive modifications to customers’ equipment. This provides DEUTZ customers with planning certainty and flexibility when integrating engines into their machinery.
