  • Develon unveiled two new waste management machines at Ecomondo 2026: the DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler and the DL280-7 waste wheel loader.

  • The DX270WMH-7 features a redesigned undercarriage, longer boom and arm, an elevating cab with 360° visibility, and enhanced lifting capacity tailored for recycling and waste operations.

  • The DL280-7 waste loader offers three arm lengths and a high-dump bucket developed with Leonardi Benne, combining lightweight design with robust durability for demanding conditions.

  • Both machines incorporate advanced safety features, improved maintenance accessibility, and specialized protective equipment to ensure operator safety and machine reliability in waste handling environments.

Develon returned this week to the Ecomondo exhibition, which is taking place in Rimini in Italy from 3-6 November 2026, with two major new offerings developed to meet the specific needs of the waste management and treatment sector.

On Stand 504 in Hall C3, Develon introduced the new DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler and the new DL280-7 waste wheel loader—configured specifically for waste management and handling—to the Italian market.

With these two new solutions, Develon reaffirms its commitment to developing machinery that combines performance, safety and reliability, ensuring high levels of efficiency even in the most demanding working conditions typical of this industry.

New high-performance Develon material handler

Featuring a new undercarriage, redesigned boom and arm, and a new design for both the elevating cab and the counterweight, the new Develon DX270WMH-7 is engineered specifically for the requirements of recycling and waste management operations.

The newly designed undercarriage provides greater operational stability; when lowered, the stabilizers create a footprint that is 35 cm longer and 50 cm wider than that of the previous model.

The elevating cab, which can be raised by an impressive 2603 mm, is equipped with a new hydraulic lifting system that enables faster operation and provides the operator with superior 360° visibility of the work area and attachments. The new cab, which offers easier access and combines comfort and ergonomics features an 8-inch display and intelligent controls based on the latest operational technologies. Structural reinforcements on the elevating cab reduce lateral oscillation and protect exposed components, such as hoses and lubrication lines. Safety is further enhanced by two emergency cab-lowering valves—one located inside and one outside—which allow for rapid intervention when necessary.

The boom and arm of the DX270WMH-7 are designed according to a new concept that optimizes weld configuration, mass distribution and stress management. This design is specifically engineered to ensure greater strength and durability for material handling applications and operations involving heavy vertical loads. The result is a longer boom and arm assembly, providing a pin height of up to 13,830 mm and an increased lifting capacity.

Develon has once again distinguished itself by integrating unique technologies into its machines—such as the ´Virtual Wall‘ safety system, which allows operators to set custom operational boundaries, preventing accidental contact with obstacles, ceilings or other elements within the work environment.

In terms of maintenance, Develon has made the condenser tiltable, equipped the machine with a magnetic dust screen and included a reversible fan as a standard feature. Furthermore, the greasing points for both the cab and the stabilizers have been optimized to boost operational efficiency and make maintenance tasks faster and easier.

The new Develon waste wheel loader for handling waste

Based on the proven Develon DL280-7 wheel loader model, this new waste-handling machine is designed to enhance both safety and efficiency for the operator. It is available with three different arm configurations, offering varying hinge pin heights: standard arms (3994 mm), long arms (4364 mm) and extra-long arms (4994 mm).

The innovative design combines the established performance of the DL280-7 with a unique, robust, yet lightweight extra-long-reach arm frame—engineered specifically to minimize weight at the front of the machine while ensuring strength and stability.

The high-dump bucket, which is being showcased at Ecomondo, is the result of a long-standing partnership between Develon and Leonardi Benne—an Italian company that has been a leader in the sector since the 1960s. With a width of 2545 mm and a capacity of 4 m³, the bucket enables a discharge height ranging from 4697 mm to 5793 mm, depending on the machine´s arm configuration. The quality of the design—which optimizes the kinematics of the Develon machine—combined with the use of 450 HB wear-resistant steel in critical areas and high-strength steel throughout the structure, ensures unparalleled reliability, durability and performance, even under the most demanding working conditions.

This new loader is equipped with a specialized waste-handling kit, which includes a protective exoskeleton for the lift cylinders; protective guards for the windshield, lights and wheels; shielding for the lower frame articulation and guards for the air intakes.
