e-power and environmental masters

Offering portable compressors with electric drive and new environmentally-friendly models in a range of different capacities from 14 kW right the way up to nearly 450 kW, Kaeser Kompressoren is proud to present portable compressed air solutions for every customer’s needs at this year’s Bauma.

Located at the usual place at stand 708/15 and 17 in the open air exhibition grounds, the portable compressed air tower will feature M 31 models with PE enclosures in various colours to help guide visitors to the Kaeser show stand. Once there, in addition to the “low emission zone”, visitors will also be able to experience the “zero emission zone”, which is new for this year’s event. This zone will showcase new road-going portable compressors with electric motors ranging in size from 15 to 30 kW. Furthermore, to accompany the existing diesel drive versions, the highly successful M 27, M 31 and M 50 portable compressors are now also available as electric drive versions. Flow rates range between 2 and 5 m³/min for pressures from 7 to 14 bar. They are equipped as standard with the advanced Sigma Control smart controller which features an easy to read colour display and Kaeser's patented Anti-Frost Control.

The electric drive machines can be used anywhere that has an electrical power supply. Their key advantage, other than being quieter than diesel powered models, is that they are cheaper to operate, since energy and maintenance costs are generally lower. Moreover, they do not produce any emissions and can therefore be used within buildings; stationary and road-going variants are available. Kaeser Kompressoren is the only compressed air systems provider in the western hemisphere to offer road-going portable compressors with electric drive motors.

Regarding its range of diesel driven machines, Kaeser is proud to introduce the new M 125, which fills the capacity gap between the M 115 and the M 130. These powerhouses are the perfect choice for use in low emission zones, as they are equipped with a low emission Deutz engine and diesel particulate filter as standard and are certified in accordance with emissions Stage IV and Tier 4 regulations.

Delivering a flow rate of 10 m³/min at 12 bar, the M 125 is ideal for cable-blowing applications, for example. Furthermore, 10 and 14 bar pressure versions are also available and all versions feature the Sigma Control mobile compressor controller, which not only provides valuable information regarding performance data, but also lets the user know when maintenance is due. Since the compressed air aftercooler is installed at an angle, compressed air treatment is optimised and the risk of damage due to freezing in winter is eliminated.

But there's more: the new M 171 will also be on show. This versatile compressor is equipped with a six-cylinder Deutz engine, meets the stringent emissions Stage IV and Tier 4 final regulations and provides a compressed air flow rate of 17.0 m³/min at 8.6 bar; pressure variants up to 14 bar are also available. With a full tank of fuel, the standard version has an operational weight of under 2.8 tonnes and is therefore relatively light for its size class. The M 171 also features a diesel particulate filter as standard and is therefore always welcome in any low emission zone.

The biggest newcomer from Kaeser is the stationary version of the M 500-2 compressed air giant, which generates compressed air at pressures from 4 to 10.3 bar. The maximum flow rates vary between 38 m³/min (10.3 bar) and 45.8 m³/min (6.9 bar). This dry-running portable compressor is primarily suited to industrial applications and, together with its comprehensive standard equipment, is perfectly tailored to meet industrial hire needs.
