electronica CEO Round Table: Semiconductor solutions for smart grids of the future

To successfully implement the necessary transition to renewable energy sources, distribution grids must not only be expanded, but better controlled and monitored. The semiconductor industry is confronting these challenges with intelligent technical solutions. The CEOs of leading semiconductor manufacturers will discuss "Semiconductor Solutions for the Smart Grid Challenge“ as part of the CEO Round Table at electronica 2012. The CEO Round Table traditionally takes place on the first day of the fair, November 13, at 11:00 (Messe München, Hall A3, electronica Forum).

Visitors at electronica can look forward to a panel of high-caliber speakers at this year’s CEO Round Table including Carlo Bozotti from STMicroelectronics, Rick Clemmer from NXP Semiconductors, Gregg A. Lowe from Freescale Semiconductor and Dr. Reinhard Ploss from Infineon Technologies. Their discussion will revolve around the question of what solutions the semiconductor is using to meet the challenges associated with grid expansion.

Modernizing the network infrastructure is essential to ensure network stability and, with it, the supply of energy in the future. What are needed are intelligent networks that can deal with growing demand for measuring, regulation and automation. However, what do these smart grids look like compared to existing solutions? What components will play an important role in the future? And are there ways to make efficient use of energy in the future, but still cut costs? The speakers at the CEO Round Table will answer these questions on November 13 (11:00) in the electronica Forum (Messe München, Hall A3, booth 242).
