Engcon safety locking system for quick fit buckets gets unique certification

QSC was developed by Engcon Group-owned company Microprop. The system standardizes the locking of the excavator bucket or other tool, independent of the excavator model or type of quick release. Previously, the locking system depended on the make of excavator and quick release, increasing the risk of handling errors.

Certification of the Engcon QSC locking system has been carried out in close collaboration with the SP Technical Research Institute in Sweden.

”SP certification of the Engcon QSC demonstrates the importance of having people within your company who are genuinely interested in the development of safety-critical control systems,” says Johan Hedberg, head of the Automation Group in SP Electronics.

The SP certificate awarded to the Engcon QSC safety locking system consists of Performance Level (PL) certification to the safety standard EN ISO 13849-1: 2016 and EC approval, At the time of writing, QSC is the only locking system with this significant third-party approval.

”We are very proud of this unique certification,” says Roberth Jonsson, Business Development & Product Manager Microprop. ”It feels great that a company, which began in a small town in Sweden, can grow to create unique innovations and demonstrate outstanding results throughout Europe. This certification proves, that, once again, we are good at what we do.”
