ERA Convention and European Rental Awards – Guest Speaker announced!

The 11th ERA Convention will be held on 8 and 9 June in the conference area of the Hotel Clarion Sign in the Centre of Stockholm. Since ERA will celebrate its 10^th anniversary, it was decided not only to think about the last 10 years but also, and particularly, about the future of the rental business, hence the topic “The Next 10 Years”.

ERA is very pleased to announce that Mr Kjell A. Nordström will be the Guest Speaker and will deliver us his lecture just before the new President of the Association closes the Convention on 9 June.

Kjell Anders Nordström is a Swedish economist, writer and public speaker. He is presently Associate Professor at the Institute of International Business (IIB) at the Stockholm School of Economics. Amid the madness and hyperbole surrounding the new economy, Dr. Kjell A. Nordström is a guru of the new world of business. In 2009, Thinkers 50, the global ranking of management gurus, placed him and his partner Jonas Ridderstråle among the list of most influential thinkers. His research and consulting focus is on the areas of corporate strategy, multinational corporations and globalization.

He and his colleague Jonas Ridderstråle published the book “Funky Business - Talent Makes Capital Dance” in 2000, which is described as a "manifesto of what our time requires from business firms and their leaders" and became an international best-seller.

In 2003, the follow-up Karaoke Capitalism - Management for Mankind, also written together with Jonas Ridderstråle, was published.

We are confident that the ERA Convention’s attendees will be impacted by his performance and will find support, inspiration and new ideas in Kjell Nordström’s lecture.

ERA expects close to 300 attendees, rental companies’ CEOs and Directors, equipment manufacturers and other service providers of the equipment rental business, mostly from Europe but also from other continents.
