With over 100 exhibitors and around 5,500 visitors, hybridica 2012 has just concluded. In parallel with the leading international trade fair electronica, well-known technology leaders such as Diehl Metall, Härter, Swoboda, Söhnergroup and Wieland Werke presented innovations and trends from the areas of materials and semi-finished goods as well as technology for micro-injection moulding, precision stamping, joining, electroplating and plastics. In addition, the topics ‘Sustainable use of materials’ as well as ‘Hybrid components for e-mobility and renewable energies’ were among the main subject emphases of hybridica.
Norbert Bargmann, Deputy CEO of Messe München GmbH, sums up the event positively: “hybridica shows how the extremely dynamic market for hybrid components is constantly developing and what innovations are being produced. The interest on the part of exhibitors and visitors confirms that this trade fair has its finger on the pulse of the hybrid technology sector.”
Exhibitors satisfied with the quality of visitors
This the third hybridica registered a high quality of visitors once again. For Gerhard Schüz, Technical Marketing Director of Wieland Werke AG, the reason for this is the overall concept of the event: “The parallel timing with electronica is a great advantage. The proportion of developers who visited our stand has increased noticeably. This carry-over effect is enormously important for our company.”
For Härter Stanztechnik, a long-standing partner of hybridica, the trade fair also went off most satisfactorily. “All in all, hybridica 2012 lived up to our expectations”, explains Alexander Kasper, Head of Marketing. “Especially on Wednesday and Thursday, we recorded high-quality contacts at our exhibition stand and held successful technical talks."
80 per cent of the visitors were from Germany, 20 per cent arrived from abroad. Apart from Germany, the top visitor countries included – in this order – Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Italy. Over 90 per cent of the visitors surveyed assessed hybridica as “good” to “excellent”.
hybridica Forum – sustainability and energy efficiency to the fore
The main subject emphases included innovative hybrid solutions and new application areas, development and material efficiency as well as integrated production processes. This year’s programme focused particularly on the topics of sustainabilty and resource efficiency. Not only were these a constantly recurring theme in the programme of talks, they were also in evidence at the exhibitors’ stands: the industry presented innovative procedures – to reduce the use of gold in the bonding, for example – and informed about energy-saving manufacturing processes. Among the highlights of the talks at the hybridica Forum was the lecture by Dr. Matthias Simon, Executive Secretary of the Gesamtverband der deutschen Buntmetallindustrie – the federation of the German nonferrous industry – on ‘Sustainability and resource efficiency from the viewpoint of the companies’ initiative Metals pro Climate’.
Special show: ‘Gläserne Fertigung – Transparent Production’
In this special show, visitors could actually see a hybrid component being manufactured. Employed here was an injection moulding machine with micro-injection module which can process the smallest of shots, thus optimising the use of energy. Precision tools and a special periphery supplement the complex production chain; at hybridica, this demonstrated the exactitude with which micro-hybrid parts can be manufactured today.
The next hybridica will take place on 11 - 14 November 2014 in parallel with electronica, the leading international trade fair.
