Finger-tip control as the E+S salt spreader goes electric

New EasySet operating terminal for E+S winter salt spreaders

The new EasySet operating terminal now offers complete electric actuation of the E+S spreader.
For E+S spreaders equipped with EasySet, the opening and closing of the shutters is done completely electrically at the press of a button with an LED shows the operator the status as to whether the shutter is open or closed.

The basic setting of the shutter is also carried out electrically via the plus and minus keys which means that, during operation, it is also possible to match the shutter aperture and thus the application rate with just a quick press of a button. Ideal especially when spreading salt, the EasySet box, with its “+100 %” function, can quickly increase the application rate significantly in critical locations, for instance when spreading on bridges or junctions. Then, via the LED display, there is an indication as to whether the application rate increase is activated or not.

On mechanically-driven models, the spreading disc on the E+S is driven via the PTO shaft and so EasySet means that no further hydraulics are required at all. Whereas, for hydraulically-driven E+S spreaders, EasySet provides the benefit that, in total, only one hydraulic spool valve is required for the spreading disc drive. This means that the E+S can also be operated on a wheeled loader which maybe has just one hydraulic oil supply.

The spread width reduction kit can also be operated via the EasySet box. Here again an LED shows when it is activated. Needless to say that during operation the spread width reduction kit can also be matched via plus and minus keys to suit the relevant situations.

Actuation of the optionally available LED work light, designed to illuminate the spreading range of the E+S and ensure safe operation during darkness, is, of course, also integrated into the EasySet box.

And as standard from 2016, all E+S spreaders will be equipped with a new rustproof stainless steel hopper tip and fitted with a new finger agitator. The new low-wearing finger agitator, due to its specifically designed trailing fingers, operates more intensively than before yet at the same time provides a more gentle treatment of the spreading material. Additionally, the trailing agitator fingers also significantly reduce the power requirement of the agitator and the agitator finger geometry ensures the optimum hopper emptying; even with coarse, moist spreading materials.
