With our vast experience in engineering the optimal products for a specific market, we have already developed semi-trailers in line with the needs of our customers in Britain. On top of that, we are further expanding our already established sales and after-sales network in the UK. We see the CV show as a great opportunity to meet our customers and develop new relationships to present our transport solutions for the UK and hear their experiences to further optimize our products.”

Kässbohrer recorded a year-on-year growth of 48.2 percent in traffic registrations in Europe in 2015, becoming the fastest growing semi-trailer manufacturer in Europe. The total market growth remained at 9.6 percent in Europe in the same period.

Kässbohrer in the UK

Operating in the British semi-trailer market through its key customers since 2012, Kässbohrer is ramping up its operations in the UK. With its expertise in engineering the optimal product for a specific market and its engineering power through high-end R&D capabilities, the company has been supplying products specifically designed for the UK market.

The latest example is Kässbohrer’s 13,600 mm-long heavy duty platform semi-trailer K.SPW.XS. Coupling with both 6 x 2 and 6 x 4 tractors, K.SPW.XS sits on a high tension KTL-coated welded chassis made of QSTE 690 TM steel, for robustness and lightness. K.SPW.XS has a kingpin capacity of 15,000 kg. For increased operational flexibility, K.SPW is equipped with a 760 mm (optionally 1,500 mm) detachable front panel, 17 x 2 units special lashing points with 2.5 ton capacity in accordance with EN 12640 and 4 x 2 Ro-Ro rings. Another Kässbohrer product developed for the UK and Ireland is the K.SHG LS container chassis. Kässbohrer’s K.SHG LS is a flexible container chassis designed to carry both 40-ft and 45-ft containers with only four locks, thanks to its 130 mm gooseneck and detachable front lock system. Its 1,250 mm fifth wheel height allows it to couple with both 6 x 2 and 6 x 4 tractors with its gooseneck in compliance with ISO 1726. K.SHG LS offers a kingpin capacity of 15 tons and a technically possible gross weight of 42,000 kg. ADR package and electronic suspension control for enhanced driving safety are among the options offered with K.SHG LS.

In 2015 Kässbohrer extended its customer base in the UK particularly in the heavy haulage segment. The Kässbohrer low-bed and low-loader series (K.SL-series) are appreciated by heavy-duty transport companies due to their high reliability and strength. The SL-series are available with three to eight axles, extendable or with bolted gooseneck. The abundance of additional options, such as reliable multipoint load security system and seven different types of ramps, provide an unmatched flexibility in daily operations. Robust, strong and durable Kässbohrer low-bed and low-loaders can transport abnormal goods up to 130 tons and lengths of up to 18 meters. The company has been nominated for the ‘Trailer Manufacturer of the Year’ at The Heavies 2016 by Britain’s Heavy Torque magazine.

Rapid after-sales service network expansion

Kässbohrer has been rapidly expanding its customer-oriented after-sales services. In just the past three months, the company has added 109 new service points to its network. The move came as a result of Kässbohrer’s market expansion in Europe in particular.

Accordingly, the company’s after sales services now cover 21 countries, including 19 countries across Europe, as well as Russia and South Korea. In particular, from 2015 up to the present, Kässbohrer has added 71 after-sales service points to its network in France and 19 points in Sweden in the same period. In the company’s homeland in Germany, Kässbohrer recently further enlarged its coverage with a focus on adding after-sales services specialized in low-beds and low-loaders, a segment where technological expertise demands have reached a maximum.
