Combined strength: Aluminium lightweight construction and push-off technology

Two years after the big relocation from Töging am Inn to Mühldorf am Inn, the former headquarters of Fliegl Agrartechnik GmbH has come back to life. Since the summer of 2015, the former production facility of the world's largest manufacturer of agricultural trailers serves as a central and pivotal point for Fliegl Alutec GmbH, a new company of the Fliegl Group. Here, all-aluminum vehicles are produced for special applications under the leadership of Johann Fliegl.

For decades, Fliegl has stood for innovation and dedication. Now, Fliegl also produces transport solutions with the help of aluminium lightweight-constructions under the name Alutec. Fliegl Alutec specializes entirely in aluminum construction and will strike out in a new direction with "The lightness of pushing off". The vehicles are designed for the transportation of light bulk materials in the agricultural sector as well as heavy materials such as sand and gravel.

All Alutec vehicles are equipped with the proven Fliegl push-off technology. With their exceptionally robust construction, they combine and optimize the advantages of all known transport and unloading systems, whether it is dump trucks, sliding or scraper floors. Thanks to the low center of gravity and low discharge height, the Alutec vehicles are stable and flexible in use.

All Alutec vehicles score points with their lightweight construction technique. Compared to steel, an enormous weight reduction is achieved with aluminium resulting in crucial advantages since an increased payload ensures fewer trips, more efficiency and major time savings. Studies show that with a weight saving of one ton, the fuel consumption is reduced by up to 0.6 l/100 km - the positive environmental impact is huge. Wearing parts such as wheels and brakes are less burdened by the lower kerb weight, making them last longer. In summary, several factors lead to a considerable cost reduction.

Fliegl Alutec offers trailers for various applications. The ASW Alutec is suitable for the transportation of light bulk solids. It is possible to save up to 3,000 kg depending on the vehicle type compared to the steel version and the complete vehicle structure, the push-off system and the chassis are made of aluminum.

"Our goal is to establish our trailers in lightweight design on the market. A payload gain of up to 3,000 kilos is a huge benefit, not only for trailers on the field but especially for trucks on the road since it is the empty weight which matters here and we are able to considerably reduce it with our aluminum construction technique", Sales Director Christoph Hierl explains.

For this reason, also the ASS Alutec, a semitrailer for agricultural and industrial transportation is an all-aluminum construction. The ASS Alutec is available with a capacity ranging from 40 m3 up to 60 m3.

The ASS Alutec unlimited is unique. The star among the volume transportation vehicles with a capacity ranging from 60 m3 to 100 m3 will be built up to a length of 13.50 meters for Europe and even 14.50 meters for individual export markets.

Furthermore, with the ASA Alutec Truck Fliegl Alutec offers truck bodies for agricultural and industrial transportation. For the construction industry, the ASS Alutec Gravel Master, a true professional for the transport of heavy bulk materials such as sand and gravel is under development. For private use, an all-aluminium version of a car push-off trailer is also available. The ASW Alutec CAR is particularly suitable for the transport of wood chips and firewood.

Our primary focus is currently on the German market. Fliegl Alutec GmbH wants to make a name for itself here first and convince with its aluminium construction technique. However, Fliegl Alutec has already received enquiries from all over the world, and so the first vehicles have already been sold to South Africa, Japan, Brazil, Spain and England.

"Our goal is clearly to convince with our aluminium construction technique. An entirely new market with enormous advantages for the customers is opening up for us", says Christoph Hierl.
