FM Conway Invests £1.5 Million in JCB Machines

One of the UK’s leading infrastructure services companies has made a huge investment in JCB equipment with a 38–machine deal worth in excess of £1.5 million.

FM Conway has bought the machines - which include excavators ranging from 1–22 tonnes and several of JCB’s iconic 3CX backhoe loaders – to expand its extensive plant and equipment fleet.

Supplied by dealer Greenshields JCB, the new models will be working on major highways and public realm projects across London - on behalf of clients including Westminster City Council and Transport for London.

FM Conway Plant Manager, John Tobin said: “We chose JCB because of the close working relationship that has developed over many years and the strong support network from our dealer Greenshields JCB. They understand that downtime equals money to our business, and always react quickly.

“A key feature of the JCB models is that they do not rely on the diesel particulate filter associated with other machines. We also benefit from the JCB LiveLink system which we use to monitor fuel consumption and idling times on the JCB JS excavators. LiveLink also provides an important security tool for us, as well as helping with maintenance.

“We work with many boroughs across London carrying out vital highways and public realm works and these new machines will help us continue to provide these important services. The larger machines especially will prove very popular with our Civil Engineering division and with the teams at our recycling facilities.”

With more than 50 years’ experience, FM Conway is a leading infrastructure services company delivering services in transportation, the built environment and open spaces for communities and businesses.

It is a member of the British Safety Council, the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association, the British Association of Landscape Industries and the Quarry Products Association, as well as being BSI registered for environmental and quality management.

Focused on recycling and reuse and with a policy of self-delivering its services, FM Conway operates an in-house plant fleet and also boasts its own state-of-the-art recycling facilities, asphalt plants and a research and development laboratory. It produces and utilises asphalt with a high-recycled content and low carbon footprint.
