Forteza Equipo celebrates new location and fleet expansion at CONEXPO 2017

Manitowoc Cranes held a special ceremony at CONEXPO 2017 to announce the expansion plans of Forteza Equipo, Puerto Rico’s premier Potain dealer since 2005. The Bayamon, Puerto Rico-based company will open a new Potain GMA tower crane dealership—dubbed Forteza Crane Rental—that will serve the state of Florida, U.S. Also announced was Forteza’s purchase of two new Potain Igo T 130 self-erecting tower cranes. Manitowoc hosted Forteza at its CONEXPO booth to commemorate both company milestones with a champagne toast.

The Igo T 130 has an impressive 8.8 USt maximum capacity and is the largest crane in Potain’s self-erecting range. Its 164 ft folding jib, which can lift 1.5 USt at its jib end, gives huge coverage across even relatively large job sites. The crane also offers maximum flexibility in configuration. Without counterweight, the crane can be transported with a single trailer—this feature works in tandem with the folding jib to enable the Igo T 130 to fit in easily among even the tightest job site constraints.

Forteza Equipo has been serving the construction industry as a family business since 1977, providing a wide range of rental services that include mobile and tower cranes, aerial work platforms, elevators for materials and personnel, specialized transportation and rigging equipment. Before its expansion into the U.S., the company was already the largest crane sales and rental supplier in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
