FXF – New Kverneland Chopper High working capacity, narrow in transport, excellent performance

Kverneland is introducing the new FXF folding chopper. It’s an agri-chopper suitable for grassland renewal, maize, sunflower and sorghum shredding. The FXF is wide in operation with 5.6m or 6.4m widths, but it is also very narrow in transport position at 2.5m. These important features together with its unique performance make the FXF chopper the ideal choice for contractors and professional farmers. The Kverneland FXF is purpose built for low operating costs in terms of power and fuel consumption, with power requirements starting at only 130hp.

Designed to match the needs of large-scale chopping, the new Kverneland FXF is packed with features. The main frame is taken from the Kverneland F20 power harrow with its well proven robustness and reliability, even in the toughest conditions. Safety in transport position is granted by an automatic hydraulic lock and the oscillating lower link and top link with a slot, permitting perfect adaptability of the machine at ground contour.

The new Kverneland FXF can offer excellent performance due to its reliable transmission. The central gearbox (up to 260hp) comes with an integrated free wheel as standard. The lateral PTO shaft is balanced in order to ensure smooth and silent running. Lateral transmission is based on 5 belts on each side combined with an automatic belt tensioner to avoid maintenance and to guarantee correct belts tensioning.

The frame of the chopping unit is designed with a round profile and rear cover, and can be opened if there are large amounts of stubble. In addition the high chopping chambers guarantee top performance even in very difficult working conditions. A special sharp plate fixed in between the 2 sections avoids uncut strips being left in the field.

The rotors of the new FXF can be equipped with universal or hammer blades. Their special design guarantees lifting of the residue even in wet conditions and avoids uncut stubble especially in tractor wheel tracks. The rotors running over 2000rpm, can ensure excellent cutting performance even at higher forwarding speed.

The Kverneland FXF comes with a rear roller of 245mm diameter as standard, for a constant control of the working depth. The bearings are integrated and protected and do not need regular greasing. As an option, the rear roller can be replaced by 4 pivoting wheels (10/8.0x12.8). A double skin and second counter knife can be added as accessories, in order to extend life of the chassis and achieve finer chopped residue.
