Taking on-board diagnostics and worksite protection to the next level with New Genie® Tech Pro™ Link option and Genie® Lift Guard™ Platform Mesh Accessories.

In addition to the latest Genie® Xtra Capacity™ (XC™) and eco-friendly booms lifts on display at this year’s show, the brand has also chosen Intermat 2018 to showcase its new Genie Tech Pro™ Link handheld diagnostics device and new Genie Lift Guard™ Platform Mesh family of accessories. Both products will be available across the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia region (EMEAR) as from June 2018.

Genie® Tech Pro™ Link

“At Genie, we put emphasis on service capabilities that are already integrated into the machines themselves, without the need for a laptop or other tools. The new Genie® Tech Pro™ Link is for customers who want to leverage these capabilities while taking their service to the next level,” says Zach Gilmor, Genie Product Manager Terex AWP, for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia region (EMEAR).

With convenience, comfort and accessibility in mind, the Genie Tech Pro link is a handheld diagnostics device that allows users access for real time data, calibration or fault code information, gauges and to make settings adjustments such as speed and so much more – all from the palm of the hand. This new device combines smart, simple features with an integrated flashlight and a magnetic attachment for easy hands-free operation.

Gilmor continues: “For Genie booms, this offers the advantage of being able work from both ground and platform controls.  For our scissor lifts, this means the ability to stand upright while using the Genie Smart Link™ diagnostics control system at ground level.” 

Purpose-built for use indoors and out, water resistant and Mil-spec shock tested for durability, the Genie Tech Pro Link device is currently compatible for use with ALC600 CAN-enabled control systems on mid-sized Genie S®-60 XC, S-65 XC, S-80 XC and S-85 XC telescopic Xtra Capacity booms, as well as with all Genie Smart Link controlled Genie GS™-electric scissor lifts produced as from Summer 2018. A retrofit kit with a simple connector will be available for earlier Genie GS- electric scissor lifts units back to 2011.

Genie® Lift Guard™ Platform Mesh family

“Loose tools, equipment and jobsite materials always present a risk of dropped objects when working at height,” says Zach Gilmor, Genie Product Manager, Terex AWP EMEAR. “Items dropped from MEWPs can result in damaged or lost equipment, reduced productivity and increased risk of jobsite accidents, leading to injury or more serious consequences. With three options to choose from, our goal with the Genie Lift Guard Platform Mesh family of accessories is to offer our customers effective methods to protect operators, bystanders and property, without impacting productivity.”

The aluminum Lift Guard Platform Mesh, factory installed, is offered in two versions - Half (from the floor to midrail) and Full (from the floor to the top rail) - to best meet customers’ jobsite needs without obstructing the lanyard attachment points on the rail. They are available on Genie 1.83 m (6 ft) or 2.44 m (8 ft) articulated and telescopic boom platforms equipped with a swing gate.

An alternative to the aluminum options is the new durable and lightweight Screen Mesh accessory is designed to encapsulate Genie 2.44 m (8 ft) boom platform, fully covering the bottom, sides, door and control panel. It only needs to be installed once and can remain in place for use up to two years.  When configured to full height, the Screen Mesh version is built to sustain 24.14 km/h (15 mph) winds; when folded down below the midrail, it is built to sustain 45 km/h (28 mph) winds. It weighs less than 9 kg (20 lb) and is made of flame-retardant material with UV and Low temperature resistance.

All Genie Lift Guard Platform Mesh accessories are available as aftermarket kits to be retrofitted onto existing boom platforms. Built to withstand rigorous jobsite conditions, these accessories are CE qualified and stability tested for use globally on Genie Z® and S® boom platforms.

To help enhance safe work practices at height, all Genie Lift Guard Platform Mesh accessories are compatible with other Genie protective and safety accessories, including the Genie Fall Arrest Bar, the Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm and the Genie Operator Protective Structure.
