GIS 2017 will be the biggest European event of the year dedicated to the lifting, industrial & port handling and specialized transport industries

A few months after the start of promotional and commercial activities, the number of confirmed exhibitors at the 6th edition of GIS-Giornate Italiane del Sollevamento e dei Trasporti Eccezionali has already significantly increased, making GIS 2017 already the most important European exhibition of the year dedicated to the lifting, industrial & port handling and specialized transport industries.

The trust of several entrepreneurs and Italian associations have certainly contributed to the result, but also the trust of foreign companies that have become tenacious supporters of niche events such as GIS which ensure useful commercial contacts against quite reasonable exhibition costs. The GIS organizer, Mr Fabio Potestŕ, is satisfied with the further development the exhibition, whose format con be considered truly unique at an international level, too. In fact, in addition to the over 6,000 qualified visitors (more than 1.000 coming from 37 foreign Countries) of the last edition, there was a strong differentiation of products sectors.

Among these, there were actually lifting and specialized transport contractors, large and small rental companies, construction and building contractors, precast concrete firms, steel mills and metal trading companies, oil & gas and power generation operators, plastics, rubber and converting technical managers, plant construction and maintenance contractors, removal and breakdown assistance, waste and scrap (ferrous and not) collecting operators, forestry and wood trading companies, but also port and intermodal terminals, railway companies, logistic managers also in airport sector, shipyards, tourist marinas, but also gardening and tree-care and public lighting companies, Firefighting, Civil Protection, and Italian Armed Forces Officials.

The recent support granted to GIS 2017 by the Italian Navy is really flattering and confirms the validity of the exhibition concept of the event.

Italy remains the second biggest manufacturing Country in Europe and all companies need machines and lifting equipment, mechanized logistics and heavy transport vehicles, a fact which should consolidate GIS as a not-to-be-missed biennial event for all those (Italian or foreign) that use that kind of machinery.

For the 2017 edition of GIS too, a full programme of technical seminars and conferences (also related to operators’ training and safety issues) is foreseen: some of them are organised with the support of important Italian industry associations and this will certainly contribute to attract more qualified operators of the different sectors.

The big news for the 2017 edition will be the special event ITALPLATFORM-Italian Access Platform Awards, to be held in the beautiful structure of Alberoni Gallery in Piacenza on the evening of Wednesday, October 4th, during which the manufacturers of the most innovative aerial platforms will be awarded, but also the businesses users and professionals who excelled in the working at heights training and safety (see www.italplatform.org).

ITALPLATFORM will add to the other 2 events organized alongside GISITALA-Italian Terminal And Logistic Awards which will be held in the evening of October 5th dedicated to the terminal, intermodal and logistics operators (see www.italawards.it), and ILTA-Italian Lifting and Transportation Awards which will be held in the evening of October 6th for the lifting and heavy transport companies (see www.ilta.biz).
